I am asking that we pray for the nation. Not because the wrong man was elected though, because I believe he was the right man for the choice. I want us to pray that now that this election is over and our new President is elected that we can again reunite as one. No more insults, no more negativity. That we can all get together and be a UNITED Nation. Under God.

To be honest I am relieved that this election is over. Not simply because the candidate I supported won but because I am ready for the hurtful comments and the unrashional rudeness to end. I mean, being an Obama supporter in Texas is not the easiest thing really. I have been told that I am a socialist, that I am a bad christian, that I am an ignorant idiot, that I am a baby-killer, that I support terrorist Islamic Arab. I am done with it. I am ready for everyone else to be done with the judgemental hurtful comments.

So what I pray for is that we stop hurting each other. That we stop telling each other "YOUR WRONG for your Beliefs and opinions!" that we learn to love each other dispite how we voted and most of all that we let it all go and realize that this is not the end. What happens in this country does not matter in the next life. Yes, pray that the future will be pleasent and fruitful, but pray that we can get along and remember that GOD will guide us. That GOD is what matters most and that GOD has control of the wheel. I trust him whole heartedly that he will make things right. That he will heal us and guide us and help us to love.

I hope that no one judges me for what I believe and feel because honestly I do not want to be a part of that. We are not to judge anyone because we do not have the right to do so. Only God. So just pray. Don't judge, do hold a grudge. Don't be pessimistic and insult. Just pray. Pray and show faith that God knows what he is doing. And love each other, unconditionally. Or atleast try.

amen! and i totally do agree. i got a personal mail yesterday from another member of this site that was hurtful. it wasn't because i was supporting our new president, it was because of the things that were being said about him. and i couldn't see how what that person was being told about obama was the "truth." we do not know the truth about him and to sit there and call him all sorts of names was very unchristian. yes, each individual will have their own opinions and beliefs, but that does not make another in the "wrong."
and for the record, i too, am an Obama supporter.

Dear Amanda,
I can understand how you feel, and I am so sorry that people have been mean and hurtful to you. We all may have very different opionions, interpretations of God's word, what we believe is right, or wrong, but there is never an excuse to say it in a way that tears down another. We, as the body of Christ, must uplift each other, and let God, as you say, show us His will. The Holy Spirit will speak to each of us as He knows how we will each be able to understand based on where we are in our walk with Christ. It is damaging to condemn others, as that may just drive them further away. Though, I may not agree with others and how they believe, and they may not believe as I do, I pray that we always remember that we are all created in God's image, and that His love is the same for every one of us! Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the Kingdom of God.
Peace and love to you!......and
Blessings to you!
Sheila

Thank you. I just don't understand how people can be so hateful and hurtful. We are all taught fogiveness and faith. So let's use it!
