“God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow is thrown into the fire. So you can be even more sure that God will clothe you.
Don't have so little faith! Don't worry ( to be anxious, distracted ) and say, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?'
The people who don't know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them.
Seek first ( desire, endeavor, seek after ) God's kingdom (be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness ) and what God wants.
Then all your other needs will be met as well.” ( Matthew 6:30-33 )
In teaching his disciples to seek the kingdom of God first, Jesus instructed them to trust their heavenly Father to not only freely give them what they needed most, forgiveness of sins and deliverance from the evil one, but also to meet their earthly needs. When ever we talk about the Kingdom of God It reminds me of the coming reign of Jesus Christ upon this Earth for a thousand years. In that kingdom there will be not needs for food, or cloths, or for a roof over our heads.
There will be no needs because God will provide all that is needed. If you remember the first man and woman who God created, Adam and Eve had all these things provided for them in the garden. What is the first thing they were worried about after they fell into sin? It was clothing.
You see God making provision for them by clothing them with animal skins. You see them driven from the garden where they had all the food and shelter they needed, now on there own they would have to trust that God would also provide for them shelter, and food.
This is foundational for us as Christians because trusting God to meet our basic needs is the first step in developing a relationship with him.
God desires our devotion and our trust, He will take care of us if we are devoted to Him. God is the Lord who sees all that we need, He has made provision, He is making provision, and He will make provision for us. He is Jehovah Jireh.
Prayer
Father you know what we need today before we even pray. Help us not just to come to you for things, but help us to seek you with all our hearts and trust in your provision for us. Thank you for meeting our needs, thank you that we can be sure that you will meet all our needs, so we will seek to know you more, we will spend our energy that we used worrying about our needs to seek you . In Jesus name amen.
This is going to be our greatest challenge as we in the US deal with a much tougher economy. I talked to some one who was seeking to buy a house and some one trying to sell a house in another state, both were consumed with it and both need to make sure that the main thing stays the main thing, that is seeking God first.

Hi Bob,
once again this is just the direction God is taking me, so thanks for the post : ).
We try to seek so many things that we could run ourselves ragged trying to do everything right or get everything we need. And the only thing we really need is Him first.
