Endurance
Hebrews 12:1 There for since we are surrounded by such a huge cord of witlessness to the life of faith let us strip off every weight that slows us down especially the sin that so easily trips us up and let us run with endurance the race god has set before us.
The holidays are right around the corner for a lot of us that means happy times. Time to be with friends and family. My self I am going to be with my dear friends for thanksgiving. And with my pops and maybe my brother for Christmas. For some of us the holidays are a time of pain and loss. Not long ago I was alone for the holidays. As a kid we would have big family gatherings with my brothers and sister and there kids. Time has past and we have all moved apart. I miss those family functions. We all struggle sometimes.
God instructs us to strip off the weights that slow us down and run the race with endurance. Notice it did not say. Run was fast as you can. There are going to be time when life is just a up hill climb. It looks like it is never going to end. It dose. There are trials in our lives that build the charter we need to be faithful Christians. It is often in the dark times that our faith in the lord may be stretched but also strengthened. So run. Run the best race you can but never stop running
The other part of the passage in strip off every weight that slows us down. How many of us go thru life making the journey so much harder that it has to be. Holding bags that we should have put down years ago. Holding on to habits that make us feel secure but in the long run are destroying us. We all need to keep watch for those things that slow us down be aware. I my self struggle with wanting to do everything my self not letting anyone it to help. What ever you struggle with let it go and give it to god
