Chuck Swindoll's Insight for Living celebrates 30 years in ministry.

Recently, Cloud Ten Pictures CEO Andre van Heerden was blessed to attend a celebration honoring 30 years of ministry for Chuck Swindoll's Insight For Living.

Andre sent me an email about the event with this update:

Ever notice how certain people just make you feel good?

I recently had the honor of being invited to a special luncheon which honored Chuck Swindoll's (Insight for Living) 30 years in ministry.

I have to admit that I wasn't all that familiar with the breadth or reach of Chuck's ministry and realize that that's my loss. What a gracious, funny and dedicated Christian. And the leaders and helpers he works with seem to embody his warm and loving spirit as well.

I was invited to this event by my good friend Cliff McDowell, who is the founder and CEO of Providential Pictures. They produce the animated version of Insight for Living's Paws and Tales childre....

Cloud Ten Pictures proudly distributes these titles and I've had the wonderful pleasure of writing some of the episodes for them. They're very funny, have great characters (my kids love Gooz the Weasel the best!) and always share some biblical truth.

While at the luncheon I also got to meet a number of other people dedicated to both ministry and mission work in Uganda and around the world.

I also had the privilege of listening to Sara Groves perform. She has a wonderful, soulful voice that compliments her engaging lyrics and touching melodies.

I came away from the lunch with a perma-grin!

Thanks Andre, sounds like a great time. I've personally been a fan of Chuck Swindoll's ministry for quite a number of years, and am glad you had such an amazing opportunity. Next time... TAKE ME! ~smirks~
