Christian Life is Like Good Pizza

Today is pizza day at grandmas’ house. The grandchildren “just gotta have” grandma pizza. They know, I put much love and care in making pizza, what they call “the special ingredients”. I do my best to make them as authentic as possible. No short cuts.

On several occasions, I’ve tried to get by with short cuts. They noticed the difference and wasn’t happy with the pizza, although they ate them. They just said “grandma’s having a senior moment” or “grandmas’ not feeling well”, and they let me get off the hook. I know at that moment, that their disappointed. So, I try to have all the basic ingredients at hand before I start from that moment on. Let me tell you, I’ve had to run into town and get things needed and they are patient as possums. (Country expressions) They know if I have what is needed it’s going to be good. So they wait.

Now you ask, just what does pizza have to do with Christian life? Nothing if you’re talking about eating it but everything if you’re talking about being prepared. There are no short cuts to living a Christian life. As I stated above, today is pizza day. As I was making the pizzas’, and making sure I had everything, the Lord said use this as parable to let my people know they need to be prepared. Then scriptures came into my heart.

Ingredients to Christian life
Be a hearer and reader of the word--- “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” Romans 10:14

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Be a believer the word--- “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Be a doer of the word--- “But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;” Philippians 1:12, 13 (KJV)
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22 (KJV)

Put all ingredients together with Gods’ grace and mercy. Once all is blended, do not stand back and let things happen. Gods' love is contagious and to be shared with others. Start Applying to your daily life. People will crave the life you have because even when thing don’t seem to be going right, Gods got you covered with the Blood of His son Jesus.

How can you be a good Christian if you’re not prepared? You can not! (Plain and simple.) Now, I got to get back to making pizza. God Bless
