When my son, Noah, was 6 he was quite a handful. Many times he would go out of his way to get attention. I remember one afternoon when I was getting ready to leave the house. All the kids were there and each was giving Daddy a hug goodbye. When I got to Noah I bent over to give him a hug and kiss him on the cheek. "Nearly 100 percent of churchgoers look forward to sermons, but only 17 percent think preaching changes the way they live," according to a recent study from the CODEC Research Center at St. Johns College in Durham, U.K. The CODEC report, "The View from the Pew," is based on interviews with 193 Anglicans, Catholics, Methodists and Baptists from 16 different churches.
