The Train Station
Short Story by DDana Dean
The sun beat hard on his back as Alex peddled across the cracked
asphalt; a playground’s basketball court, aged by years of neglect. A
slide had been toppled over by God knows what, a crippled stand holding
only chains where children once would swing, a Mary-go-round off its
pivot lay upside-down, most likely by the same force… Continue

I want to share some information. I have been having trouble with my gallbladder for a while now. In the last two months i have been in and out of the hospital. Recently the pain has gotten so bad that it even hurts for me to drink water. After the last recent time of going to the hospital for pain that was unbearable, they did a sonagram and found a lot of gallstones. They also found that the tube to my gallbladder was a little… Continue

I never felt so dead in my life until I met him.
He was sweet, tender, everything I thought I wanted. I wanted him so bad I never even noticed how bad he was to me. I thought the pressure to be perfect was only natural. That it was a given that a man would leave a girl if she ever was less than her best. Because of that I starved myself to stay thin, obsessed over my looks, spent more of my time with him thinking about not screwing up rather than thinking about… Continue

Choices, they are what points the direction of each road we walk. Each of our choices led us either to a pass situation or failure. It is these choices or free will that ultimately shows our character. How about our feelings or emotions, can we somewhat control them or do we find that they more often control us? That if we aren’t… Continue

Finish the Course
By Rev. Dean Beaty 7/25/10
II Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteous-
ness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not
to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (KJV)
Have you truly fought a good fight?
Have you given to God all your might?
With perseverance the race you've… Continue

Take Heed in Times of Temptation
1 Corinthians 10:12,13 -Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
The Greek word for Temptation is “Peirasmos” (Pa-ra-smo’s) which means an… Continue

The Missing Messiah
By Rev. Dean Beaty 7/25/10
Colossians 1:18 “And he is the head of the body, the church:
who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things
he might have the preeminence.” (KJV)
If the Savior is not first then the church has lost it's way
They may teach the Bible yet God's Word they disobey.
Service after service there's no mention of Christ's name.
And the preaching of the cross is treated just the… Continue

Do you hear Jesus' call? Do you hear Jesus saying, "Follow me?" Continue
Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ called to carry his Good News into all the world? Are you using your God-given gifts, talents and abilities to advance the Gospel and the Kingdom of God? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this open-ended question.
When Jesus called his Twelve Apostles and later identified seventy more, his process was astonishly straightforward and almost casual. He approached people as they…

My boyfriend was making tacos for his mother and brother. While they were in the living room he was chopping up lettuce when CHOP! off goes a small piece of his finger. For those who don't know, my boyfriend has a history of hospital visits... Before the hospital stored its file electronically, there was a hard copy folder already almost 2 inches thick on him.
So not wanting to visit the hospital again, especially not when the injury wasn't as bad as ones he's used to… Continue

It has been a while since i have been on here and for that i am sorry. I have been thinking a lot and wondering if it is expected of me to go to church. I know that i have a close relationship with God but some people say that it does not really matter unless you go to church. I think you don't have to go to church in order to make it to heaven but i may be wrong. God knows my true heart and hopefully i will get my life straightened out where things will get in order soon. I was taught that… Continue

Have you ever gardened? I believe the Lord shown me something while I was tending to my garden. It was concerning the fruits or in this cause, vegetables that we as Christians, the Church, or ministries produce while serving the Father .I am referring to the spiritual fruits, or the final product that is seen when all the work is done, and harvest time has come. The “garden” in this cause will be the… Continue

But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8But God found fault with the people and said: "The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their… Continue

God grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change,Courage to change the things I can,and wisdom to know the difference.Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time.Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace.Taking this world as it is,not as I would have it.Trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to your will.So that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next.Amen

Remember the Lord, your God; Continue
He can turn your mourning into dancing.
Refrain from being silent!
Honor Him with continual praising.
Renew your life, mind and conscience,
by spiritually touching God’s realm;
conquer all of life’s obstacles
and prevent your soul from being overwhelmed.
Stand firm – you are redeemed!
Your obligation is to never forget,
that you’ve inherited a sacred mission;
go now forth as Jehovah’s prophet.
You possess the keys…

Size 0 shoes
Wonder if you'd wear pink or blue
Or Dora the Explorer or a Disney Princess too
Would you look cute in ruffles
Or a pair of overalls
Would your cheeks turn pink when your tear drop fall
My arms are empty without you
My heart is broken open
Every night I dream about you
My little Anastasia
Would your first steps be outside
On cement or… Continue

If you were asked today whether or not you are saved, what would be your answer? Could you answer without delay or doubt? Or do you somewhat question it? Does our life show the manifestations of the working power of the Holy Spirit, or does our life still reflect a past that had once been laid down at the cross. Simply put, do the words coming out of our mouths, match the life style we currently live? Or do we speak like God’s children, yet walk as the heathen.
The number one true… Continue

It has been a year since I have logged into this site. Things haven't changed too much. Still working, and supporting my family. I've only gone to church twice; yet don't feel so much anger about God taking my son like I used to. I am still dull from the experience of losing my son. I just don't feel welcomed by the Christian community. I am an outsider looking in. I just wanted to write about some things that have been on my mind lately.
I was watching the History Channel the… Continue
