About Me
Greetings!

Welcome to my LIBAW (Real Life in Christ) profile. I greet you warmly, full of peace and joy, in the name of the one and only God: God the Father and creator of all things; God the Son, our beloved Savior, Redeemer, and Lord Jesus Christ; and God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to faith and sanctifies us.

As a Christ follower, I place my faith, hope and trust in the person of Jesus Christ--the Son of God and the savior of humanity; the mediator between man and God the Father. I take the Bible seriously, both as the inspired Word of God containing all things necessary for salvation, and as the final authority in all matters of faith, practice and morals. I embrace the best of the evangelical, charismatic, liturgical and sacramental streams of our historic Christian faith.

With a faith firmly rooted in the person of Jesus Christ (whose life among us is recorded in the Holy Scriptures) and guided by reason, I believe in taking an honest approach to the pursuit of truth; one that encourages questions and is not doctrinally rigid or simplistic.

I affirm wholeheartedly and unapologetically the Gospel’s timeless message of the universal, unconditional, inclusive love of God in Jesus Christ. I welcome all who seek and serve Christ, and I urge us to keep reaching out in love, with kindness and respect, to those who are not yet with us.

Looking around me, I continually marvel at the incredible beauty, utter majesty and sheer complexity of God’s creation, which knows no bounds, extending to the farthest reaches of the universe. I see God's image in all humankind, and I invite you to share that vision.

No matter who or where you are, God welcomes you as part of His family and to dine at His table. I invite you to experience Christ risen among us through sharing our joys, burdens and hopes and living the Good News of unconditional love for all.

Confident of the hope that lies within, provided by grace that I do not deserve and cannot earn, and with an enduring and certain faith sustained by the Holy Spirit, I invite you to celebrate God's boundless love and share it freely with others.

Please come back and visit again, as I will be updating the content of this profile frequently. Before you leave, I invite you to post a comment or send me a message. I would love to hear from you!

Grace, peace and blessings in the name of our God the Father our Creator, God the Son our Redeemer, and God's Spirit our Sustainer!

* I love God.

* I love beautiful things.

* I try to look for the beauty in all things.

* I am becoming aware of who I am.

* I strive to become the person I know that God wants me to be.

*/ THE GOSPEL /*
*/ By this gospel you are saved: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. /* 1 Corinthians 15 /*
*/ Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. /* Matthew 28.19 /*

We live in difficult and challenging times. That has been our shared experience since the tragic story of our first parents, Adam and Eve.

We are, without exception, fallen and broken, humbled and humiliated, in desperate need of God’s redemption and grace. However, as bad as things may seem, there is reason for optimism: God's Spirit continues to be at work in our lives, sustaining, inspiring, blessing and strengthening us.

In the words of the apostle Paul, I urge you to “pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

I pray that you and your loved ones will face life's challenges with confidence, strengthened with faith in our Heavenly Father, and that you may be led in victory daily as you walk with Christ in His presence. This, I pray, for you.

--May you have wisdom beyond your years, be blessed with abundant provision, given excellent health and well being, and always walk in His favor.

--May your relationships with your family, friends, church, and community be filled with love, healing, and forgiveness.

--May you always speak for those who are unable to speak for themselves, stand for those who are unable to stand for themselves, and help those who are unable to help themselves.

--May you look for the best in people, not the worst.

--May you promote reconciliation, justice, peace and love with your families and friends and with people throughout the world no matter how different from us they might be. Join me in praying for world peace in Christ’s name--an end to violence and conflict, poverty, racism, starvation, oppression, and injustice.

--May you reach out to others, especially to the lost and the lonely, the hurting, and those without hope.

--May you fulfill the will of our Heavenly Father in everything you say and do. Let us get on with Jesus' mission, be renewed by the Holy Spirit, and remain faithful to the Gospel. Christ has done and will continue to do remarkable and amazing things in our midst.

This, I pray, in the name of Jesus Christ, our blessed Lord and our Savior, who reigns forever and ever,

Peace be with you always!

*/ BELIEFS /*

I believe there is only ONE God, Creator and Lord of everything, infinitely perfect, all powerful, all knowing, and eternally existent in three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (The Trinity). He is the one God who desires meaningful relationship with each of us. His love is inclusive and unconditional.

God is compassionate, loving and just toward all people and is faithful to keep His promises. He hears and answers prayer. He calls all people to believe in Him and saves from sin and eternal death each person who comes to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Knowing, loving, and following God and making his love known to others is at the heart of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the good news of God. The power of the gospel is such that it radically changes lives.

I believe that no matter who you are or what you have done, God invites you to a new life with him! He invites you to become a new person from the inside out.

The faith that Jesus taught is relational at the core -- with God and with each other. So I focus my attention on developing three areas: knowing and loving God, loving each other, and serving our world.

God is compassionate, loving and just toward all people and is faithful to keep His promises. He hears and answers prayer. He calls all people to believe in Him and saves from sin and eternal death each person who comes to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Words can only begin to describe Him, but through real relationship with Him we can come to know him better.

I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and without error in its original writing. God and God's people speak to us through the Bible. The Bible was given by God through chosen people and thus reflects the backgrounds, styles, and vocabulary of human writers. It has been translated, from many ancient manuscripts, into many languages and various versions, but at the core the truth of the message has remained. And most important of all, the Bible proclaims to us the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Bible is the full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice; there are no other writings similarly inspired by God. The Bible's timeless and universal truth speaks to our everyday lives.

*/ All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work./2 Timothy 3:16/*

While maintaining the authority and supremacy of the Bible, I do affirm the historic or ecumenical creeds of the early undivided Christian Church: the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Apostles' Creed.

* / APOSTLES' CREED / *

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

"The God who made us what we are knows what we desire to be and waits with infinite patience while we become what we can. We, on the other hand, know that whatever we need to become all that we can be, this same great and loving God will supply. For all of that, we are thankful. “Liturgy exists not to educate, but to seduce people into participating in common activity of the highest order, where one is freed to learn things which cannot be taught.” ~ Aidan Kavanagh

"We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love, one another." ~ Jonathan Swift

"Heresy is not the real danger; exclusive, unloving bigotry is!" ~ Rev. Dr. W. Eugene March

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile." ~ Mother Teresa

"All over this magnificent world God calls us to extend His kingdom of shalom-peace and wholeness — of justice, of goodness, of compassion, of caring, of sharing, of laughter, of joy, of reconciliation. God is transfiguring the world right this very moment through us because God believes in us and because God loves us. What can separate us from the love of God? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And as we share God's love with our brothers and sisters, God's other children, there is no tyrant who can resist us, no opposition that cannot be ended, no hunger that cannot be fed, no wound that cannot be healed, no hatred that cannot be turned into love, no dream that cannot be fulfilled." ~ Desmond Tutu

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." ~ Teilhard de Chardin

Go calmly in peace, for you will have a good escort,
because He who created you has sent you the Holy Spirit
and has always guarded you as a mother does her child
who loves her.
-St. Clare of Assisi

May the God of peace, who through the
blood of the eternal covenant brought
back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that
great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you
with everything good for doing his will,
and may he work in us what is pleasing
to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom
be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
(Hebrews 13.20-21)
What would you say is your Spiritual gift?
Jesus says loving God and loving our neighbor is
the Great Commandment; that both go hand in hand.
We can't love one without also loving the other.
And we can't love our neighbor without being
concerned with our neighbor's plight.
(Mark 12.28-34)

What good is it, my brothers and sisters,
if you say you have faith but do not have works?
Can faith save you?

If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food,
and one of you says to them,
‘Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill’,
and yet you do not supply their bodily needs,
what is the good of that?

So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
But someone will say,
‘You have faith and I have works.’
Show me your faith without works,
and I by my works will show you my faith.
You believe that God is one; you do well.
Even the demons believe—and shudder.
Do you want to be shown, you senseless person,
that faith without works is barren?
(James 2.14-20)

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his
brother in need but has no pity on him,
how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth."
(1 John 3.17-18)

"Jesus answered, If you want to be perfect,
go, sell your possessions and give to the poor,
and you will have treasure in heaven.
Then come, follow me.'"
(Matthew 19.21)

For the past 500 years, many Christians in English-speaking nations have…

One night a wife found her husband standing over their baby's crib. Silently she watched him. As he stood looking down at the sleeping infant, she saw on his face a mixture of emotions: disbelief, doubt, skepticism. Touched by this unusual display and the deep emotions it aroused, with eyes glistening she slipped her arm around her husband. "A penny for your thoughts," she said.
"It's amazing!" he replied. "I just can't see how anybody can make a crib like that for only $46.50."
