About Me
Hello, my name is Sonny. I was born on November 16, 1980. I was born again in September 2000, and by the grace of God has been walking Jesus since then. Currently living a simple life, but trying to aspire for greater things. I believe for a number of reasons, rightly studying the scriptures and trying to live faithfully what I'm studying is a big deal. That's it for now. I'll have to update this section later. :)
My Testimony
The first time the Gospel was definitively preached to me, I was about eight years old. I cannot say that I was regenerated or born-again at that point, but manifestly, the Gospel message had its effect on me and the way that I lived my life. I basically fluctuated in terms of my "moral" conduct until I was nineteen. At that point, even though I was a "good" guy, I was tired of having my soul at risk of Hell fire and effectually sensed my need to be saved from the sin to which I was bound and the Hell to which it drew me. So it is that God saved me and translated me into the kingdom of his Son. And being made a very citizen of Heavenly Jerusalem, I am in this world as an ambassador for Christ, beckoning people to turn from their sins and place their faith in the Savior of the world.

Roughly about a year and a half ago (that is Mar 2008), I was challenged to look into and contend with what is called the Doctrines of Grace (A.K.A. T.U.L.I.P. or the Five Points of Calvinism). It was a relatively rigorous expedition that basically ended with my espousal of the very Doctrines I presumed and was told were unscriptural. I know, I believe more fully, that God and God alone in Jesus Christ saved me.

Since I became a Christian, I was, as most American Christians today, a Dispensationalist (even though I was unfamiliar with the term). However, a few years ago, after I had a really difficult time reconciling what I knew so far about Dispensationalism with scripture (particularly Matthew 24), I began to consider myself no longer a staunch advocate of it, but rather a soft subscriber to it. About 9 months ago (that is Oct 2008), I underwent to study Eschatology and really, ultimately come to an understanding of certain scriptures that were pertinent to debates of Eschatology and the various mutually exclusive or paradoxical interpretations ascribed to them since the time of the early church fathers. And through all this, I sought to come to my own conclusion instead of just leaving it up to the "experts". I ultimately concluded that stage of my studies in Eschatology with espousing what is called Reformed Amillennialism. Basically, I have the dots. Hereafter, it is a matter of connecting those dots.

Currently, as a sort of successor to the studies I exerted in Eschatology and the studies of Soteriology (with "Calvinism") before it, I am studying what is called the Transcendental Argument for the Existence of God. This is the most difficult yet, but there is progress. It has to do with actually proving (and not merely presenting evidence for) the existence of God and exposing the fundamental oxymoron that is "atheistic rationality". I'd say I understand the argument, but I want to be able to use it competently. So that's what I'm working on. And so here I am sojourning in this present, temporal world and eagerly awaiting the final coming of Christ. God bless ya!
