MY JOURNEY BEGINS

Have you ever expierienced a craving so intense that until you satisfied it, it gnawed at you night and day? I don't exactly remember when this craving I had started but it has been with me for quite sometime now. Until last night I didn't know what it was I wanted, but I do now.

What happened to me is right up there with getting married and giving birth to my 2 wonderful children, but ultimately it even takes precedence over that.

Last Sunday I attended church willingly and because I WANTED to for the first time in my 48 soon to be 49 years on the earth.I was so nervous walking in and felt extremely intimidated, but I knew it was something I had to do, so I kept my chin up held my head high and went in. What happened next I will never forget, the extreme calm I felt, the nervousness and intimidation was gone and I felt like I belonged there.

After service I met the Pastor and we chatted a bit and I told him I really wasn't sure why I was there, but something inside me was pointing me in this direction and I had to come. I told him about the constant feeling I've had. like a craving for something but didn't know what it was. He asked me if we could meet and talk about this sometime outside of church and I agreed instantly.

So, last night I met with Pastor Brad at Tim Hortons of all places. For anyone reading this and not familiar with Timmies, it's a coffee chain in Canada = to Starbucks i guess. The place was packed, adults and noisy kids everywhere lol, but when we started to talk all the noise seemed to disappear. We touched on alot of topics, and got to know each other a bit better on the personal side as well.

Long story short we came to a mutual agreement that the craving feeling I have been expierencing could only have one explaination. That God was calling me to follow him. So right there in the coffee shop with Pastor Brad holding my hands I asked the Lord to forgive me of my sins, and to deliver me from evil. I asked him into my heart. At that point Pastor Brad was passing me a napkin and smiling from ear to ear. I didn't even realize that I had tears on my cheeks.

And so my journey to follow Christ, and to do his will here on Earth as it is in Heaven begins. My craving has been fed finally after all this time but has now been replaced with a new one, only this time I know what it is I want. I want to learn all I can about being a follower of Christ. It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for.

Dear God,

Be my redeemer, my internal teacher, my divine physician.
Thank You for your presence in my life.

I surrender to You all I am, all I think, all I feel, and all I have.
I recognize in this moment that Yours is the power to heal and make whole.
You who have the power to work miracles,
You who rule time and space, please take me in Your arms and hold me.

Dear Lord, please lift me up and heal me.
Cast out of my mind all thoughts that are not of You.
Cast out of me all harsh and critical nature.
Cast out of me all violence and all anger.
Cast out of me all demons from my past.
For I would be made new.

I wish to walk so close to You that we might be as one.
I ask for new life, new mind, new body, new spirit.
Dear God, please come into me and release me from this pain.

I ask this in Jesus' name

What would you say is your Spiritual gift?: I haven't come that far yet, but I am praying on it and have tried a few online tests. They seem to point me into the direction of being a caregiver.
