I've been learning from the online archives at
http://www.torahclass.com/old-testament-studies
listened to (and viewed the pdfs) to Genesis, and am working through Exodus now.
I always check Torah, in Hebrew, and THAT is the basis for what is true, no matter whose commentaries I study. I keep the Biblical calendar and Feasts, not the "Jewish Calendar" or "Jewish Feasts". I choose to be united with God, not united against God.

Yom Teruah, Yom haKippurim ve Chag haSukkot AD 2011 in our home
My high school son took the day off from school yesterday for Yom Teruah (Lev 23:23-25); we took the day off for resting and feasting, relaxing. Some of the "special food" I picked up for the day were a bag of snacks: Bugles (corn snacks) since it was the 7th Rosh Chodesh. (not exactly "blowing" a shofar, but to remember that.) Stepmother to 2 grown young men, whom I haven't seen in many years, and who never lived with us. I have no idea where they are now

plus step-grandkids and I'm not sure how many there are.

4 sisters and 1 brother, ALL taller than me, most of them are MUCH taller than me.
Aunt to LOTS of nieces and nephews (12, I think...some of those are steps that I haven't met either, No idea on the in-law side, at least 2 more there.)
I'm starting to sound like a Borg!! "1 of 6" hahahahahaha
Ah well, family is part of what defines me.
But, of course, it is God who truly defines every part of who I am. And that is the family He placed me within.
I instructed a children's community theater workshop, two seasons annually. And then directed their production for public performance. I also ran the A/V for the other class's production. (lights & sound effects).
Wednesday Bible study I taught the grade school age kids at a local church. Including Hebrew language, Davidic dance, God's calendar and Feast Days, and Shabbat..
I have lead ladies Bible study discussion groups. And of course been blessed through being a member of MANY others.
I have completed the TCE Level 1 course for CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship.) Am willing to become part of an after school "Good News Club" team in our local public schools, neighborhoods, preschools
I volunteer at BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) in the A/V ministry. Completed my 5th year as a member. (Genesis, Romans, Matthew and "The Life of Moses," John) The study of Isaiah is this year.
Completed taking Torah: Our Ancient Foundations class and Torah 101. Learned some truths about our Hebrew roots. Yeshua [Jesus] was born Jewish, lived a sinless Jewish life. His parents, apostles were all of the House of Judah. They lived within their Jewish community. The Bible was written by Israelites, about Israelites for Israelites (natural born and grafted in). I get so much more out God's message (the Bible) when I know the Hebrew context & idioms. This is one of the things I've participated in where I've witnessed and experienced God's profound changes in our lives.
I have attended some bat-mitzvah classes, Messianic Jewish Shabbat services. Many different Hebrew language courses But have learned to enjoy a Day of Rest every Shabbat instead of DOing things. halleluYAH!
I was one of several volunteers at the State Parkhelped develop and teach outdoor science labs to area 5th graders. This has proven to increase their comprehension in those areas and improved their state standardized evaluation scores. PTL!!
I am a graduate of the Grace Adventure, Group 10 Workshop.
It was during the first evening of the first GA Journey that Yeshua came to me, and I met Him for the first time. I've meet a few others (Messianic Jews) who also met Yeshua that way. I've since heard other testimonies. It wasn't the result of someone witnessing and the acceptance of an invitation. I learned about that MUCH later. (and have been delighted to participate in others' acceptance of salvation)
I have been blessed through Celebrate Recovery groups & a small group step study.
I have been blessed through Theophostic Prayer Ministry (TPM), both as the person seeking truth from Yeshua for my own thoughts and feelings, and as witness for others. WOW.

Yes, I, too did not know I had a "pet gorilla." I didn't even know it could be a problem.
Although Celebrate Recovery was originally started to provide a healing path to Christ for alcoholics and drug addicts, after 16 years there are more than 10,000 groups that meet world wide. But now only 30% of those who attend meetings are celebrating their recoveries from addiction.
Whatever your hurts, habits or hang ups. The answer is the always the same. To find that answer go to a local meeting. Come as you are, but don't expect to stay that way.
