April 9-11 I went to beautiful Allenspark, CO to staff Women's Walk With Christ. It was so amazing to look around and see what God created and to breath in his essence. Two years before I attending my inital weekend with about 35 other women. It is an experience like no other that can strengthen you in so many different ways. - I have been married to an absuletly wonderful man for 11 years. We have two wonderful boys that are 13 and 10.
- My Testimony
- My received the holy ghost early when I was in third grade. I pretty much tried to do what was right, even though I was attracted to the wrong crowd. In school when they offered me cigarettes and alcohol I would turn then down and nobody looked at me any different. Some of my friends admired me for not doing the stuff to begin with. So saying no to drugs and alcohol at that time was easy for me. However I never really had a good self image of myself and my self esteem was pretty low. I was always intrigued by sex, I would even look through playboy magazines. Even though I was promiscuous at a young age with kissing and touching I was always too scared to actually go all the way. When I moved out from home I guess I took a year off from my faith and went bizerk, having sex, doing drugs, drinking, and just plain not caring about my self. I was 19 when I found out I was pregnant. I found my self a little scared, but not alone. My mom who has always taught me to be a strong woman in Christ told me everything was going to be okay. I started looking forward to having my baby. I knew the guy I was with wasn't going to be a part of his life, so I just moved on. While I was pregnant I told Jesus about the man I wanted. He was to be kind, nice, sensitive but still manly so that he could take care of me. I wanted him to have a good head on his shoulders. I didn't want him to drink, smoke, or do drugs. But, the most important thing was that he had to share my faith. He had to believe in the Holy Ghost. He had to love me and my son and never be mean to us. My parents questioned me when I had a strong urge to move to Paducah, KY, but that is where I found this man who is my husband today. Today I honor God in everyting I do. My husband and I have built a strong relationship through Jesus and are trying to raise our boys with our same values.
