 Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 4:7-8 “But unto every one of us is given

grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Wherefore he saith, “When he ascended up on high,

he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.” (KJV)

When someone is born again

     God’s Spirit comes to live within.

To each one He gives a gift

     For serving God and to uplift.

To some He may give more than one.

     They’re promised us by God’s own Son.

These gifts are not for wealth or fame

     But to bring praise to Jesus name.

Fame and fortune fade away

     And will be lost on judgment day.

Gifts used for God last evermore

     And wait for us at heaven’s door.

If we use them for our self

     These gifts may end up on the shelf.

No reward for them in heaven

     If to God they were not given.
