It is not clear what problem you are having. You related memory to your backup disc. What type of backup disc do you have? Is it a external hard drive? Exactly what problems are you having? Describe them. Are you sure your problem is memory. If you are talking about a lack of virtual memory, that is because just about all your hard drive space is used up. Virtual memory comes from empty space on your hard drive. People should try to keep 25% of their hard drive free for virtual memory use and defragging purposes. If you have plenty of hard drive space, you can increase your virtual memory. But a virtual memory problem usually only shows on your computer pertaining to your primary hard drive when a program is attempting to run that needs more virtual memory. You will most likely need less virtual memory if you increase your random access memory. I believe if you have at least 2 gigabytes of random access memory, you will not get a virtual memory error. Virtual memory works with your random access memory to run programs.

For anyone wanting to seriously learn the in's and out's of a Linux operating system I suggest starting to learn "bash script" - O Reilly's book Classic Shell Scripting is definitely a great start!

Also, I offer a suggestion considering open source (free) operating systems (and the like) that are much more stable than Windows. Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring edition (KDE desktop or Gnome - I prefer KDE). Also if you have a PowerPC you should check out the following link (also includes some x86): http://royal.pingdom.com/2008/09/26/10-amazingly-alternative-operating-systems-and-what-they-could-mean-for-the-future/

Here's some more open source stuff: http://www.xtremeopensource.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=24907:unix-for-beginners-best-alternative-operating-system&catid=47:linux&Itemid=101

Preston, can you take a picture of it? You might need to take it to a computer tech and have them take the computer apart (laptop or desktop?) to remove it. I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself as you might damage something. Hope this helps! God Bless.

can anyone tell me how to get the metal part (broken off in the port) of headphone wires out??? the hole is so small that I can't use tweezers, a needle, etc. Anything would help me as it's the only port I have to connect ANY sort of headphone equip. thanks so much!

There is nothing wrong with LIBAW. Betty Sue may have failed to follow all 3 steps. Drag to upload, push next, push upload. If she saw the little picture in the upper box after the first step dragging it over, she might have thought it was done cuz you have to scroll down to next and upload. It is a blonde thing that I could have done at one time. See if this is the issue. Walk her through the steps in chat if necessary! I tried the right click thing and can see no other explanation.
