That's a great approach. Just remember that an addiction is a spiritual stronghold and those who are captured by it have a very hard time getting out. They need the light of Christ to shine down on that situation and that's where we can help our family of faith. Did you get a chance to listen to the CD. It will help give you even more insight on the addiction issues especially if you've never been faced with that dilemna.

Actually, I wouldn't say anything. If a person is a Christian, the same Spirit that resides in me also resides in them. Not everyone is on the same level in their Christian walk so the Lord deals differently with each one of us. What may be my conviction today may be your conviction tomorrow so I just allow the Lord to do what He does best. He doesn't need me doing His job for Him. If they were to ask me, then I would say what I believed but if not, I just pray for them.
All unrighteousness is sin (1 Jn 5:17a), therefore stop that sin before it stops u, subdue the flesh for it loves to take the place of God.
Addiction is walking in the flesh and the word of God is Spirit. Go for the word, listen to the Holy Spirit and pray to come out of it.(Romans 8).
God loves you.
R u still addicted?

No. I haven't listened but I will make an attempt. I have been addicted to something most of my life. I would replace one thing w/another so yes, I do know the task that's ahead of those who desire to quit. Thank you for your ministry that helps others conquer their addictions & find victory in Christ.

the issue is how ready the person is ready to hear and obey the word of God.For every word we disobey attracts punishment and separates u from God unless we repent from it.
What i would say to such a Christian is that the Bible says "abstain from all appearances of evil" and "do not be filled with wine but with the spirit"
There are evils and sins associated with drinking alcohol such as drunkenness. If you are drunk u are out of grace. You begin to disgrace the temple of God as even to the extent of blaspheming against God.When you are drunk you lose faith and boy you grieve the spirit and the spirit departs from you.And thetre is no communion between you and God.In that condition you can murder, drinking alcohol is always followed up by the spirit of immorality. There is every tendency that the drunk will commit so many sins and the spirit of God is not associated with that.It is evil, thats why the bible says abstain from all appearances....how ever it disguises and appears....pls abstain.
I am not saying the bible has told us not to drink, but its better for a christian not to.My pastor always says that between the amount of alcohol level your body can take and the point where u get drunk, there is the devil.A Christian who drinks alcohol is likely to get drunk and sin than he who doesn't drink at all.So its good to abstain as the bible says.More over, how do we encourage unbelievers who are already addicted to or worship alcolhol to come out of it if we are seen drinking or smoking?Like wise porn, gambles and gluttony.
The worse is that non of these are encouraged by the spirit of God that is supposed to lead us.They6 are all works of the flesh as in Galatians 5 vs 19-21,which the bible says they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
If we ask the spirit of God whether we should by car,go to work, wear cloths or preach the gospel,God will always say yes as long as it is necessary.I just wonder what situation will make God ask us to smoke, drink alcohol or look at porn.
so then what about marijuana? i mean i know people that smoke marijuana and still keep their lives together qutie well....heck what do u say to somebody that likes to smoke marijuana and read the bible? or somebody that only smokes to meditate on the word of god? i mean does it make a difference if a person does it because they like to study the word or something like that with a buzz? i know people that do that cuz they say it helps them to focus on the word and they dont smoke at any other time...at least not that i know of
imagine how sin begats sin and the family keeps increasing and all equals to FLESH and HELL.God bless You sister tammy.

The devil is now saying if a christian escapes this one the other will disguise and catch him.
More addictions are coming.Be sober and vigilant. the idiot walketh about seeking whom to devour.

Hi Aka. Haven't spoken w/you in a while. I tried last night on chat but for some reason we never connected. Anyways, there are so many other addictions that run rampant in the US. We have morphine, meth, crack, cocaine, pot, & an addiction that is up & rising is to prescription meds. People can also be addicted to porn without the alcohol. But you are correct in saying that the first step is having the desire to quit in the first place.
I am a Christian and also a smoker. Like Tammy I have been addicted to many things.I believe GOD is still helping me with this problem too. I do not judge people by what I see but by their heart. I have prayed to GOD about deliverance from this outward sin but I believe that the inward sins are much more important. When Paul prayed to GOD about the "thorn in his side" GOD said HIS grace is sufficient for him. I praise GOD for HIS wisdom and I know I will be delivered from this also. Thank you for letting me express my opinion. Fran J
