If I can still commit sin and still make it toheaven then Jesus' death was in vain. What does the scripture mean when it says Heb 10:26-29 if we wilfully sin...
and Heb 6:4-6 , and Roman 6:1-23. We must look at the scriprtures the way they are intended to be looked at, they mean what they ssay and say what they mean, so if I can continue in sin and still go to heaven then the sinner has no need to get saved because he too can go to heaven, right? Jesus freed us from the captivity of sin and if we sin now it is by choice the choice we made. 1 Peter 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear? We can not be sinners or commit sin which ever suites you and still make it in to heaven. Let's not go to Romans 7 and say even Paul sinned Paul was refering to himself in this chapter before he got saved oh, but after salvation he was no longer a sinner.
The word says that the circumcision that was made without hands is what took the "sin nature", that you speak of Adam, from us. That is that something extra that the blood of Jesus had, that the animals blood did not have.
When God cursed us, through Adam, that embedded that sinful nature through Adams seed... And God knew that to deal with the fact that the people kept sinning, which He hated, He would have to change their very nature. So through salvation, being born again, our spirit is literally slain, and resurrected in the Spirit of Christ. Replacing our sinful nature with that of Christs. Which, in turn, gives us the ability, through Him, to live as He did... holy and righteous.
So, the fact that you or I may still sin, does not mean that we have to. I do believe the point in all of this is that we do have the ability to choose righteousness, all the time, and that IS what God requires of us.
It is not that we cannot stop sinning. Acknowledging that we must allow God to renew our mind and replace our hearts. Most people myself included has a difficult time letting go giving control to something you cannot see or touch but that is where faith comes in. You need to learn to let you spirit man connect to with God thru the Holy Spirit. You must break the yoke of the world that seeks the flesh and the only way to do that is thru the blood of Jesus and surrounding yourself with the fire of the Holy Ghost. Most importantly, you must PRAY and keep in prayer every day. Prayer is extremely powerful and no devil in hell can break the line of communication of prayer. You also have to rebuke the flesh everyday all day long especially if you a baby in Christ.
We all know that adam sinned and therefore we inheritated sin.. Gods original purpose was for humans to live in perfect conditions on a perfect earth. In order for that to happen there needed to be a ransom in exchange for our sins. That is why jesus came to earth and died on the torture stake. It wouldn't be that we would instantly have our sinful tendancies taken away but jesus provide a way for us to be forgiven of our sins. Our sins will be done away with whe god finally destroyes all wicked on the earth. But until then we will keep sinning.
2CORINTHIANS 6:17 WHEREFORE COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, AND BE YE SEPARATE, SAITH THE LORD, AND TOUCH NOT THE UNCLEAN THING; AND I WILL RECEIVE YOU,
2CORINTHIANS 7:1 HAVING THEREFORE THESE PROMISES, DEARLY BELOVED, LET US CLEANSE OURSELVES FROM ALL FILTHINESS OF THE FLESH AND SPIRIT, PERFECTING HOLINESS IN THE FEAR OF GOD.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THESE SCRIPTURES, FOR THEY TELL US MUCH, FIRST WE MUST COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, IN OTHER WORDS, HOW CAN YOU STOP SINNING IF YOU ARE ALWAYS AMONG THOSE THAT SIN, WE MUST LEARN HOW TO BE HOLY, BY GOING TO HIM WHO IS HOLY, AND ALLOW THE HOLY GHOST TO TEACH US ALL THINGS, FOR IT IS THE SPIRIT THAT GIVES LIFE, THE FLESH PROFITS US NOTHING!!! WE MUST TURN FROM THE WORLD AND ITS VIEWS OF LIFE, FOR WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE EYES THAT CAN NOW SEE. FOR WE WERE ONCE BLIND, BUT NOW ARE SUPPOSED TO SEE. WE ALSO SHOULD HAVE AN EAR TO HEAR, BECAUSE WE WERE ALSO DEAF. WE MUST AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS, WE MUST NOT SLEEP AS DO OTHERS, WE MUST ALSO REALIZE THAT THE LORD DYING UPON THE CROSS AND SHEDDING HIS BLOOD PAID THE PRICE, AND WHEN WE ACCEPT HIS SALVATION WE ARE PRONOUNCED RIGHTEOUS IN THE SIGHT OF GOD, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, WHAT WE MIGHT NOT BE TODAY OR RATHER FEEL TODAY, WE ARE EVER BECOMING, AND THROUGH SANCTIFICATION WE ARE CLOSER TO WHAT WE WILL BE DAY BY DAY, OR BY AND BY. LET ME MAKE CLEAR ALSO THAT IT IS NOT HOW WE FEEL THAT DETERMINES OUR HOLINESS, BUT GOD HIMSELF THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS, FOR THE FATHER SEES US THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS, AND WE NOW HAVE ALL OF OUR CHOICES , BUT WE MUST NOW MAKE DECISIONS BASED UPON THE CHOICES WE HAVE, FOR HOLINESS IS A LIFE THAT YOU WILL LIVE, WHICH SAYS SIMPLY THAT I WILL NO LONGER LIVE FOR ME, BUT WILL NOW LIVE FOR MY LORD AND SAVIOUR CHRIST JESUS, ALSO IF WE COULD NOT STOP SINNING, WHY DID THE LORD TELL THE WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY TO GO AND SIN NO MORE, IF IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP, I PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL BLESS YOU, AND GRANT YOU THE WISDOM TO UNDERSTAND AND THE EYES TO SEE AND EARS TO HEAR IN JESUS NAME AMEN
We are covered in the Robe of Righteousness, Through Jesus free gift to Us. It is trough this we are saved, apart from this there is no hope, We can do nothing on our own.If you say you are without sin you are decieving yourself, and cheapening the Attonement. This is what we are told in the Bible. I know you are probably talking about pre marital sex and 10 commandment type sin, I agree we should not be practicing these, but even if you were weak and repented to Jesus you will be forgiven, Jesus shed blood for our past, present, and future sins. With love and respect to you Annett.
I can truly say that I live a sin free life. I'm not saying that sin does not present itself, but I choose to live Holy before the Lord every day of my life, it is my choice I choose Holiness everyday of my life. He died to free me from sin. 1 John 1:8-10 the scripture that you made reference to does not talk about us continuing in sin, but this speaks of ur life before we were saved before Jesus freed us from the powers of sin. When we accepted Jesus the sin nature was done away with, you can not tell me that we can keep sinning and as long as we repent we will make it in, what if in the middle of sinning you die and do not get the chance to repent what then? Repentance means to turn away never to return to that sin, this is how the Father veiws repentance not for us to keep sinning because if I keep sinning I have not repented. I could even understand when u first get saved and you make mistakes but the older you get in the faith the stronger you become. Romans 6:1-2 Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid, God forbids us to sin you do believe the word of God right
Original Sin Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5
Jesus' Sinlessness He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. 1 Peter 2:22
Jesus' Sacrifice As a perfect sacrifice, Christ's death was our redemption ( i.e., our rescue by ransom: the paying of a price that freed us from the jeopardy of guilt, enslavement to sin, and expectation of wrath; Rom. 3:24; Gal. 4:4-5; Col. 1:14 ). Christ's death was God's act of reconciling us to himself, overcoming his own hostility to us that our sins provoked ( Rom. 3:25; Rom. 5:10; 2 Cor. 5:18-19; Col. 1:20-22 ).
Jesus' Salvation For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it ( either faith as such or salvation and faith together ) is the gift of God ( Eph. 2:8 ). Salvation comes from the Lord ( Jon. 2:9 ).
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
I hope that this helps you find your answer. Take care and God bless.

The sin nature was taken from us? really? so why do you still have impure thoughts? don't deny it, because we all do. so you can say in all honesty that you never get irritated when something dose not go your way? the next time you need to ask Christ for forgiveness for what ever, just remember it is because of your sinful nature.
