Hi my friend I usually go to the book of Psalms for strength & encouragement; king David the sweet psalmist wrote a lot of songs that will give you strength to overcome any situations ,like yea though I walk through the shadows of death I will fear no evil ,The name of the Lord is a strong Tower ,The Joy of the Lord is My strength,The lord is my strength & song and He has become my Salvation etc.
Try Psalms 91 ,& the 23 Psalms !
Stay Up! Da Zoneman!
lisha, what a great question!!!!!! i tell you though, thats a tough one. most of the time, and i mean MOST of the time, (LOL) the Lord directs me to a passage that I need. And MOST of the time, it's one I haven't read, or rememebr reading. I love it.

So to answer your question, I really cant give you one. depending on my need at that time, it's always diffrent. but great question!!!!!
I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN, SOMETIMES I FIND MYSELF JUST LOOKING AT MY BIBLE HOPING THAT IT WOULD JUST COME TO ME. EVERYONE SAYS PRAY FOR STRENGTH AND IN THIS DAY AND AGE YOU REALLY NEED IT. SOMETIMES ITS READING IN THE BIBLE SOMEONE WHO HAD IT WORSE OFF THAN ME, THAT MAKES ME SEE THAT I SHOULDNT COMPLAIN. JUS BE THANKFUL
lisha, so true, so true! i was just teling my 11 year old son today, "son, are you complaining that you have to take the trash out and it's hard to pull the bag out of the can???"

I said, "at last we HAVE trash bags and your not out there EVERY day rinsing out the can!".

I know that is very, very, very minor, but to him, I guess it was a big deal. But you are so right to say, "no matter how bad you think it is, there is always someone who has it even worse."

But PRAISE GOD!!!!!! He cares and loves us! Even the non-believers. Cause if that wasn't so, how in the world would all of us make it?

God bless you girl. I love your discussions! Have a wonderful night!
I understand that there are passages for strength, but sometimes i wonder is there more. Take my situation, The state has taken my niece and nephew and put them into foster care, i have been taking care of them for 5 years now which is most of my adult life, i have sacrificed and prayed and tried to show them how to be great children and follow the Lord. I had to leave to be with my husband who is in korea so i thought they would be safe with my mother. The state felt different. Now im in korea and my babies are in foster care, I did find myself questioning Gods Will.
Where do i find help for that. im away from my church and i feel like my strength is slipping away..
Lisha, I'm sorry. That dumb story I told last night about my son was stupid. I had no idea that you were going through this. I totally agree with Adam. He said it perfectly. Know that you and your family will be in my prayers. God bless you Lisha.
Psalm 112. The Holy Spirit lead me to that passage as I watched my house burning down. Now it always serves to remind me that God has my life under His control.
