I think one view says that Dinosaurland:) existed on earth during a "period of time" after Genesis 1:1 occurred, but before 1:2. So, God "re-created" the world beginning at 1:2, to make it sustainable for man.

Another view is the "day-age" theory, or Old Earth Creationism, as Dr. Hugh Ross describes. In this view, dinosaurs would not have lived with man, either. It says that dinos were created on the sixth "day" as humans were, but "day" interpreted from the Hebrew word "yom" as an age or period of time much longer than a 24-hour period. And in this view, dinosaurs were created, lived and died out before other animals and humans were created during that "day" or age.

I personally like the latter view because it makes sense of the creation account, earth's age, and yet does not undermine the Bible's teaching that humans were created at once (no evolution), sinned and immediately incurred by God their physical and spiritual death, and provided the means for which Christ came to earth to save His sheep.
yeah. ya gotta be careful of those evolutionists. they are a scary bunch. though some of them are real good looking.
I would say that if we compare dinosaurs to the picture of dragons and monsters of the sea in the bible, they did exist, and according to Gods creation He created animals first, then man. but over a period of time those monsters and dragons did live together with man..

Hi 7,12
Am I the sea, or the monster of the deep, that you put me under guard?
Ps 74,13
It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.
Isaia 27,1
In that day,the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan the gliding serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster of the sea.
Hes 32,2
Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:'You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.
Lev 11/23
But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. (imagine: 4 legs PLUS wings!!! really sounds like dragons)

There are more scriptures on dragons in the bible, also sometimes named as snakes..and there is a very precise scriptures describing beasts which resemble very much to dinosaurs, but I couldnt find it, so far..
James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

note sure if that is what you were looking for.

ok. i tried... but i cant. how can the large amount of scientific evidence that dinos were around millions of years ago be ignored? Is it so hard to believe that the "days" in genesis were much longer periods of time?
jason I was a evolutionists for a long time ( and your right some of them are good looking lol) untill I came along some evidance that changed my mind.

i would encourge any one to read a case for the creator by lee strobel and

http://www.answersingenesis.org/

There is a lot of scientific evidence for bibleical creation too. but we all have to make up our own minds :)
i will check it out.
I know thats wut got me confused and they said dinos died out b4 man but i know some were still around when man supposedly appeared
i think a day then isn't the same amount of time as today. I agree with you Jason.
thanks Adam.....I will read all that and study it more....thanks for the post.

Psalm 90:4
For a thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.

2 Peter 3:8
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

Obviously, the length of a day is subjective to God. But why do we seem so intent on retricting God by "time". He created it, so He is by no means subject to it. So whose definition of a day are we using here? I'm exceptionally aware of this dilema when I consider that the jews measure a day to be sunset to sunset, but here in the west, we measure a day from midnight to midnight. Who's right? Both of us? Niether? Just something to think about...

I'll be the first one here to say this: I don't know which it is.
I don't know whether God took a literal 6 days, or if He took 6 "ages" to create everything, though I lean towards 6 "ages". But to be completely honest, I don't care. This is not something that is central to our salvation. I won't go to Hell for believing that God spent several millenia working on His masterpiece of creation. Nor will I go to Hell for believing that He only worked on it for 6 days. And I think the more we contend with one another over this point, the less effective we become as a witness to the lost.
But I do want to leave everyone with this one last thought;
I've heard the probability stats on evolution. I've heard people say that the possibility that life evolved on earth from a single celled life-form are equal to the chance of a tornado touching down in a junkyard and leaving behind a fully functional 747...
In other words, it would have to be a miracle, right?
So, is the long, slow process of creation any less miraculous than the instantaneous creation? And if they are equally miraculous, then why do we feel some need to convince one another that our miracle is the right one?
All I'm saying is that the world looks at the way Christians argue among themselves and they laugh at us. And then they decided that if that's what Christianity is all about, they don't need the added drama in their lives.
Yes, knowing the truth is important. And the church used to believe that the world was flat...
