We go through this life, trying to understand what we cannot see, discern what we cannot understand and analyze what we cannot discern.  It is through our logic, experiences, knowledge and emotion that we build these cookie cutter patterns for the way we think God does and will work in our lives to accomplish His will and purposes in and through us. The Bible is clear that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, so who do we think we are that we are able to understand that which is beyond understanding? What would the outcome have been for any of the examples strewn throughout the pages of scripture if they chose to walk by sight rather than by faith? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would have known that fire burns, Daniel would have known that Lion’s teeth are sharp, Abraham would have known that sacrificing his son would be the end of his lineage, Elijah would have known that you cannot light something that is wet on fire, Moses would have known that raising a stick could not part the seas or that speaking to a rock would not make water come out of it in the desert….what if those stories ended there and they never stepped out in faith and truly trusted God beyond what logic and experience told them.  The Bible says that God has plans for our lives, plans for a hope and a future not to harm, that He desires to bless us abundantly, the Bible says that God is for us, all of which are true. However, if God calls us into the fire are we in our humanity going to be more preoccupied with the logic that fire burns or are we going to step out in faith and trust that the blessing that will come from that fire is going to be worth whatever happens inside of it. Who is to say that any of those examples would have still turned out as the miracles they did if they had not walked it out in complete faith that God was in that circumstance. There are deeper things in life and in God then what meets our eyes, more to this life then experience can teach you, far beyond what our imaginations can even fathom.

We are not puppets on a string and our free will, ability to choose, stand, fight, or run is all entangled in God’s ultimate sovereignty. He chose to work in and through man to accomplish His will on earth. That is why Jesus Christ had to become a man in order to save man. That is why the Bible says that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father waiting for the enemy to be made his footstool! He is not waiting for His plan to just spontaneously become, He is waiting on the church to step up and start operating in the power and authority we have through the cross and Jesus precious name. I believe that God has called us all to a deeper level of intimacy, understanding, faith, and trust in Him but it is up to us whether or not we will push through those things carnally that hinder the supernatural or whether we will just fall in line with others who have grown to be comfortable with the systems and formulas this world has taught us. I believe this is the difference between being a sheep and being a part of the ecclesia that God intended the church to be.

Excellent post. There is much truth to be mined here and much to be pondered. None of us can know what the future holds for us and our loved ones, but what we followers of Jesus know is that we will not walk the path of life alone, Jesus will light our path with his love.

Our belief in God’s promise of the resurrection and of eternity is the strength of our faith. Our faith journey with God is not a one-off event it is an ongoing process, a process that never ends.

Faith is never a finished product, it is constantly being shaped and molded, refined and polished, faith is an ever growing process and as our faith grows and increases so we grow and increase in God’s love.

We are called to be Christ’s disciples -- to live a life that is based on the principles of Jesus’ teachings and to daily renew our faith and to breathe new life into our discipleship.

We live in a world that is literally dying -- desperately in need of God's mercy, forgiveness, and grace. Our families and our community need it. Our nation desperately needs it.

I like the Holy Ghost Fire that burns inside of you. You are one of my most favorite sisters. You are one of God's treasures.
