OK,  This is christian rap song i cam across, and i have to say the lyrics disturb me a bit.  Im not sure im in not understanding it, or if it is just a bad song.   Dont worry, its not vulgar and there is no bad language. its the message that is rubbing me the wrong way.  This version is not the original vid,  but a copy with lyrics included because at times they are a little hard to understand.      It also has comments made by the person who added the lyrics. They are in red.  I didnt see any profanity but i didnt pay alot of attention to his comments. Just the actual lyrics.

i was going to post this under entertainment,  but im not sure it fits there.

no hugging seems like a terrible message to me. whats wrong with a hug?
I can't believe that youtube would even post the song on there. Which you know you can find just about anything on youtube these days. There is some things on youtube that are actually pretty awesome to watch. Then there is things like that song that is just unfit to see.
WOW.....Jason I watched it and have no words for just how not Christ like or God glorifying that song is...wow...
Exactly. and this cam from a church group. Yet its so misguided.
i think the worst thing about this song is that it gets stuck in the head very easily. lol
it sure didnt get stuck because i liked it. just did.
Well . . .All through history Christ has been misrepresented by many so-called religious people. His message has many times been re-arranged and changed to suit carnal people and their selfish ambitions.

This rap song in my opinion, just fits in with the above.

Lemme add my tu sens n!
ok, sorry, but for real:
I volunteer as a Middle School ministry youth leader at "the church" (you know, the one that I have posted about in the past numerous times. the lukewarm mega church). My purpose for volunteering there is solely for the kids. But over time, I have watched the influences of the main campus spread over into even the middle and high school ministries (which used to be awesomely Spirit filled). I have watched as the Fire of the Holy Spirit slowly drained away until nearly EVERY emotional moment came only from the kid's hyper-ness. The kids have lost their passion to worship and only "play around" as we are praising. Last week, the head pastor brought in a (excuse me for the use of this already over used and over rated name lol) Justin Bieber cover up band (made up of students from the high school ministries) in for a mini concert. The kids went CRAZY!!! They jumped rows and chairs, pushed and shoved, and screamed, and went totally berserk! There were video cameras and cell phones raised HIGH in the air to catch a glimpse of this IDOL!

The kids got a kick out of it, the pastors had fun, and the "few" of us sat back and only prayed... These kids couldn't care LESS about worshiping their LORD, but are willing to TRAMPLE their peers just to catch a picture of a SECULAR IDOL! (it seems as though they will only put their hands up in the air for a celebrity, not Christ) I don't know about y'all, but this more than sickens me... We have come to a point where a majority of church services, special events, and special guest in America (I say America because it is the only churches I have witnessed) try to please God and entertain their selves at the same time. They are only causing our Father to WEEP! I could only imagine that with every half filled, bored heart who mumbles a word or two in worship, then sleeps or pays no attention during the sermon brings only SORROW and a broken heart to our Lord our GOD!

If men women and children can't even give God attention while they are at church, then how in the WORLD are they supposed to walk each new day with Him outside of the church while under the influence of the world!? (only if their church isn't just another part of the world, that is)

This video only serves as evidence of the decaying moral and spiritual values of the church today. No, I'm not saying that the song was a "bad" song, but the tone, atmosphere, and the IMPACT of the music on the INNOCENT children bring only DISGRACE to the loving and HOLY house of God! I would ball my eyes out if I walk up to Jesus in heaven for the first time and He only allows me to give Him a half-hearted, one armed, split second hug!!! I feel as though this "contemporary" hug is only a direct reflection of the state of the Church: half-hearted devotion...

We cry OUT Father! Even our CHILDREN are suede by the wicked ways of this world! Is there no longer any refuge!? Father give our children genuine places of refuge where they can find TRUTH! No longer can your bride sleep while the rest of the world makes a mockery of our groom! We can not let the world continue to pollute your church! We must purify what remains before it is TOO late! Let us heed the warnings of Revelations about the late church so that we ourselves don't get caught up in the muck!
Other than the genre, what about the no hugging message. i would like input on that.
I feel that it is a potentially good intentioned message, but there is a flip side to the abstinent message:

For some people, full on frontal contact with the opposite sex (even a hug in the setting of a church), can lead to further desires and temptations. The Bible tells us to FLEE from all sexual temptation, so for some, disbanding a "frontal hug" can be a very useful way of combating temptation. But here is the problem: not everyone has the same problem. For many, a genuine hug is a golden apple of the day. We are designed to be physical (in both sexual and non-sexual ways), so hugs are just a normal expression of gratitude, salutations, or comfort. One time in high school, I went on a "free hug campaign." After lunch, I would stand in the middle of the hallway and offer free hugs to everyone. At first, people were standoffish, but they eventually warmed up and before you knew it, the general atmosphere began to lighten up. There were less arguments, more smiles, and generally happier people.

Also, God stands as a Father figure who EMBRACES us. I can only imagine that the day I return to Him, He would do nothing less than fully embrace me. Taking hugs out of church is bordering the idea of taking all physical contact out period, apart from a "business man's" handshake. We must remain intimate (on a family level) with all our brothers and sisters so that we can remain bonded. If some people have problems with hugging, then they should come out about it, present it to the body and let them pray over him or her. We shouldn't run from all physical intimacy because a few take it too far. In other words, the many shouldn't suffer for the few.

Besides, sometimes, there is nothing better, no greater remedy for a bad day or a heavy heart then a good, comforting, embracing hug :)
Do you think that would be a bad idea considering today's culture? lol I have to admit, even I'd be a little shocked. It's not that I'd be against it, I'm just not used to it.
Oh and one more thing.

When I look at images of Christ on the cross, I see two things:
1. Our Lord and Savior giving it all up for His beloved church, in blood sweat and tears.
2. Our Lord and Savior with arms open wide! Ready for the weak and the weary to come running to Him! His hands will remain Open on the cross until every last one of His children come running and embrace Him! Open arms are a symbol of an open relationship, a welcoming, a beckoning. Jesus didn't die on the cross with only one hand nailed (I know, that metaphor is a bit stretched, but it means something to me), He was crucified with both hands nailed. Sometimes, when I talk to people who are on the verge of devoting their lives to Christ, God speaks through me to entail a vision:
In short, I tell them to imagine the figure of a cross off in the distance. As they walk closer to the cross, they hear their name gently whispered in a comforting manner. The closer they get, the louder the call. Then, when they get close enough to see the cross good, they see a man on it, crying out to THEM! The closer they get, the more they recognize this man. He looks a bit like their own father, but different, better. Finally, they come face to face with Him. He opens His eyes and begins to weep. I tell them to look into His eyes, the eyes of their savior! He is calling your name! All He wants of you is to embrace Him, it's only the first step. just come to Him and hold on! He is waiting there on the cross for you! He won't get off of that cross until you come to Him...

Then I pray for them and something happens. When they open their eyes and look at me, it is as if they literally just saw the face of God. They have been weeping the entire time and the images were real and powerful...

now tell me, how impacting would it be if I told them, "just wrap an arm around Him for a split second and say you are a Christian (then sing that awful chorus lol). Where is the passion!? The intimacy!?
