It seemed like the world was falling. And then one day I got into an incident with older boy at the bus stop. This young man decided to make me the target of his slandering, relentless, jokes. He would turn the crowd of children into a vicious mob as they were memorized by the words which flowed out of his mouth. Phrase by phrase, sentence by sentence, the brute lower my self-esteem, yelling things like, “Look at those shoes! Where did you buy those pants from!” The laughter filled my ears as my heart grew in rage with every word, every noun, every verb, and every adjective that proceeded out of his mouth. Suddenly my little fingers began to curl one by one into the center of my hand until they had formed a tightly grip fist. Voices from deep within called on me to do the opposite of my upbringing; “Hit him! Punch his lights out!” the voice cried. Even though I was clearly no match for the taller third grader, I was blinded by raged and a desperate desire to end the taunting.  I rock back and swung my small narrow fist up into the air in an attempt to slay this goliath. Bang and what would you know I struck first blood.   But to my disappointment the blow of thunder had no effect on this giant. And I was in unchartered waters. The tooth picks which I stood on (called legs), started to shake as the man-child began to retaliated. Just before he could finish me off, my sister came out of nowhere, like superwoman coming to the called of distress child. Angela grabbed the youngster by his shirt and swung him around like rabies infested pit-bull shaking your mom new sofa seats around in his mouth. (Just as wrong but just as fun to watch).
