What does the bible say about drinking alcohol and being a Jesus-follower?
- we shall not get drunk
- Jesus' first miracle was changing water into wine (here seen pure physically, not spiritually)
- wine is permissable if used as medicine
- wine is used for the Lord's supper
- wine is a symbol for Jesus shed blood

This video explains it all pretty well, maybe someone has more ideas/scriptures to it..?

Yes!!! The Bible never prohibited to drink but to get drunk.
Thank you for all answers!
Yes, I meant both varies: whether we should drink at all, and if it might be permissable from time to time.
Barry, thank you also for naming the hygenic reasons of rather drinking wine instead of water at that time, I never thought about that! (but wine which is nothing but by feet smashed fruits also sounds kind of unhygenic.. ;-D).
To my opinion, although sometimes wine or stronger alcoholic drinks might be allowed in the bible, it is up to everybody's personal physical and psychological constitution. I do drink wine with the Lord's supper, but it is only a small sip. But whenever I drinkmore, I do get kind of drunk pretty quickly and by doing so, my spirit is knocked out or dizzy and I get sleepy, too. So, to me, drinking alcohol is risky, and in a way not appropiate when it comes up to a full glass.
Generally alcohol is purely made to have an effect on our body and spirit, and it weakens our attention in all areas..
