Job 5:17-18

Job 5:17-18 (KJV)

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

Just like we have to make course corrections with a ship or our children, God does the same thing with us.  We may not like or understand His chastening, but we learn, grow and trust His hand of correction.
