I've been seeing a lot of negative comments from 'Anti-Christmas' Christians. They say that since Christmas started off as a pagan celebration, it's a sin to celebrate it today. When Jesus' birth is brought up the rebuttal is that there's no evidence Jesus was born on December 25th! In this article I will explain why this logic is completely flawed...
Argument: Christians shouldn't celebrate a day that has pagan roots
This argument is contradictory because there are many everyday things that people say or do today that has pagan roots. The modern calendar we all use today derived from paganism, so does that mean everyone who has a calendar is pagan? I think not!
Origin of our days and months:

Everyday is a Christmas which it describe as the time of giving, sharing, and loving. The book of psalms tells us that, if there is a reason to celebrate then celebrate. Just be sure who is the reason to celebrate. It's not the tradition, culture that we have we celebrate it but its the time we can gave back for all the blessing God give us. Like in America they celebrate thanksgiving not because of tradition but because there is a reason to celebrate. Does celebrating Christmas is wrong? Definitely NO!! But the origin is pagan? Well, then celebrate the kind of celebration which pleases God not the pagans way of celebration but God's intended celebration. Make sure what is your purpose of these celebration and the focus of it.
Aman... I like how you put this into words... sounds like one of old pastors from the old days....lol... I have pastor for 35 years now and I guess your the first to say anything to remind me of how I was taught as a child... I may use this for a massage one Sunday real soon.... thanks
Joy thats good I like that... I am really big on Christmas because of kids... We are also Foster Parents and we have 3 girls who we just signed permanent guardianship in court Monday... They had been in foster care since they where about 9 years old... As we put up our tree tonight as a family I wish you could have seen their eyes... I also took them to see the ocean for there first time and they made me cry seeing and hearing them... Joy it is a great blessing seeing these kid 365 days a year come to know about God and his great love... We have 6 kids and 9 grand kids and one great grand child... so Christmas with Christ first is what I teach them...aman...love U
