Is the year 2012 the end of the world?
There is a growing buzz and concern over the year 2012. Many are beginning to believe that 2012 will be the end of the world. Here’s the three scenarios that are feeding this thinking:
According to the Mayan calendar “Long Count” which began in 3114 BC, it comes to an end as of December 21, 2012. Many see this ending as a prediction to the end of time and the world.
According to the prophecies of Nostradamus, a great comet known as “The Doomsday Comet” will impact the earth or pass near the earth causing great destruction in the Year 2012. In the new text of Nostradamus, the years 2008-2012 are referred to as the “Time of Troubles” which is described as a time of war and hopelessness.
According to NASA, there is going to be a Solar Storm in the year 2012. Solar storms can cause polar shifts (meaning that the North Pole becomes the South Pole, etc.) This of course can lead to great destruction. In addition, the rotational orbit of the Earth could be reversed. Again, major destruction would be the result. And to make matters worse, NASA says the comet SEDNA is due to come towards Earth in the year 2012. However, they claim it will miss Earth. BUT, if it doesn’t, they plan to blow the comet up which would send its fragments to Earth.
As Christians, we believe in the Bible as the divinely inspired Word of God. We have our plan for the end of the world in the book of Revelation. Christians who believe in Christ as the Son of God and their Savior do not have to worry about the events that will define end times. They will be removed from the Earth in what is called, the Rapture. Christians are called God’s church and are the Bride of Christ. God will keep his church from harm and will remove his children from the Earth before any destruction occurs. The book of Revelations says that the Rapture will occur, then the Tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon, and the 1000 year Reign of Christ on the Earth.
Also remember, as Christians, we believe that God created our universe and solar system and that he alone controls the events that will occur.

I believe that NO MATTER what takes place we should all be ready NOW. We are not promised tomorrow. I have always said "We inhale here and exhale there". Today is the day of Salvation. I have spoke many times concerning the END. This I know to be true. If Christ comes Before, During or After you best be ready...Our theology is not what counts it is our hearts. BE READY people for "HE COMETH LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT" "SO WATCH YE THEREFORE". The bible teaches us that no one knows the hour or time He will return, but says that we should be able to discern the times. If they have ever been a day and time that we need this discernment it is TODAY.
Please if you have not ask Christ into your heart THINK for a moment and ask God to show you. Then I am sure you will see your need for HIM.
If you have ask Christ into your heart EXAMINE yourselves make SURE your ready. It is NOT about what you believe but who you believe in and what condition your heart is in.
Remember in the bible God always used numbers and has shown us examples. He had invited ten virgins to the wedding but only !/2 were ready. Now listen He is talking to the church. He said two would be in the field working. One would be left and one would be taken. He is showing us that 1/2 of us won't make it. We may think... as the virgins did that we are ready but they were not. WHICH HALF WILL YOU BE? THINK ABOUT WHO SITS AROUND YOU AT CHURCH, BEHIND YOU, BESIDE YOU, IN THE FRONT OF YOU. WHO WILL BE LEFT AND WHO WILL BE TAKEN.
I know that as for me I truly want to be in the half that is ready. I ask forgiveness daily and make a point to ask God to help me LOVE in deed and not in word. I am so far from where I need to be but I know this...CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE FOR ME AND HE HAS WASHED AWAY MY SINS WHAT I FAIL AT... HE WILL REDEEM ME IN.
I AM NOT PERFECT I AM FORGIVEN.
PEOPLE PLEASE GET READY! GET WITH A CHRISTIAN AND ASK THEM TO PRAY THAT GOD WILL REVEAL YOUR NEED FOR HIM TO YOU NOW.
I SAY ALL THIS IN LOVE AND AS A REMINDER TO MYSELF THAT I NEED CHRIST EVERY MOMENT.

As a Christian for over 30 years I have heard many date setter which proved that they were all wrong. I do however believe that we can know the times and season of the end of this age. It should be a time of rejoicing for us because our redemption is drawing near when all the Biblical prophecies will be fulfilled. It is also going to be a time of harvest, when multitudes will be coming to Christ. We will need to be fully devoted followers of Jesus and be people of the Word so that we don't find ourselves being led astray by false prophets and teachers. We need to long for and look for His return, ready to go when the time comes.

Thank you all my friends for bringing your opinions on this topic. It's not a topic but it's the life's best that we should understand that Lord will come on His perfect time. That's why I always say "Christ is the Reveler of the facts and Healer of the Pains". He only knows what is the time and what is the best. So let us all focus on how far we are to Him spiritually. Because with out God, there is no meaning for our lives. I have gone through lots of Testimonys of you all and every page has given me the glory of the Lord how worked on your lives. Even I came from a very back ward cast system in India and struggled a lot, but with out God I would have not been here. He brought me up in many ways and where I'm today is only because of Him. I always thank god for you all my friends as we all are the flowers in the graden of life which is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless you all and may His love richly touch you all. I pray that may this 2009 will be a great break through for you all. Amen.

As far as the thought that the world will come to an end in 2012; people have been trying to set dates for years. Does anyone remember the book "88 reasons Christ will return in 1988"? In 1989 a book call "88 reasons Christ didn't return in '88" was released.
The Bible teaches that the earth as we know it will be here for a minimum of 1007 years. That is because after the rapture, there is 7 years of tribulation, followed by the return of Christ and His 1000 year reign. That is 1007 years, which puts us at least at 3016 before God will destroy the earth with fire and change it.
As it has been stated before, the Bible says that no man knows the day nor the hour which Christ will return. It also says that Christ's return will be like a thief in the night. Therefore, He could return tonight, making "the end" 1007 years away. Or He could wait another 1000 years or more, making "the end" 2007 or more years away.
Remember, the apostles expected Christ to return during their time. And that was almost 2000 years ago.

I agree whole heartedly with last sentence as well. God is in full control of all the events and occurances that may take place now and in the following years to come. Our biggest concerns should be two fold. First, how is our relationship with Jesus? Are you a child of God? Are you washed in the Blood? Are you living for Jesus? Second, How is our relashonship with others? Do we love the people in our lives enough to tell them all about Jesus and His saving power. Are you living for Jesus?
Yes time is shorty and there is much to do. The world may end as the Mayan calander does, it may end when Nostradomus predicted, or it may even happen when NASA claims it will. However none of these thing will happen with out the express permission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is all about Him. It is all in His time, according to His plan.
Live for Jesus, Tell the world one person at a time.

but we really dont know for sure when , where, how there was 2002 then 2010, then 2012 soo is it in the bible as to which year? no its not

Human emotions are high rated these days. As we know we are at the end time....as prophesies also told us for years that the end time will be like a mad man looks like a wise and the wise like a mad man....so it's natural we here the end is "here"..."there"...but Christians(true ones) knows that only Lord knows the time and no one can reveal it.
Yes, we have to answer for some questions....because our answers are nothing but "Christ".
