its a pleasure....well we above all were created in the likeness & image of God And God is a HOLY GOD!!! 2nd. when we accept the Lord Jesus as Savior we become new creatures in Him; 3rd. Our BODIES is the temple of the Holy Spirit so it is our responsibility to take care of it for God through the Spirit dwells(LIVES) in us.
hope this truth enlightens your understanding God Bless You!!!
THANKs so much. i understand. god bless :)
Joseph you need to read Matthew 15:11; Mark 7:15-23 and Romans 7:9-25 to see that our body (flesh) is not the temple of God for the Kingdom of God lies within our Spirit (heart). I agree with Richard on the Leviticus law stuff as this flesh will turn to dust and return to the ground from where it came from and no tattoo is going to keep you from going with Jesus when He returns in the clouds to take us home if you truly believe in Christ and have accepted Him as you Lord and Savior. What about all those who have tattoos already and then later accept Jesus as their personal Savior, does that mean they are already condemned to Hell.

Did you know that God does not see our flesh. Our flesh will always sin because that is its nature and God cannot see our flesh because of our sins nor can he hear the prayers of a sinner, John 9:31. Sin separates us from God because God is a spirit and can only recognize his own children by what spirit is living in their hearts. We have to renew, rebirth - born again, Gods Spirit within us in order to be called a child of God and see the kingdom of heaven. We now put off the old man (flesh) and put on the new man (Spirit), Colossians 3:1-17. We are renewed by the word of God and through the Holy Spirit teaching us of all things, John 14:26.

Here are some scriptures about the flesh and I would suggest you get a concordance and look up the word flesh.

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
most people quote a verse in Leviticus about not marking our bodies...but this was for the Levites, the priest tribe of Israel....we are not under the Order of the Levites because we are not under the Law..we are actually under the New Covenant...we are priests forever in the Order of Melchizadek..so, sure go for it, there's freedom in the Lord..but it wouldn't hurt to get something edifying to Him, either. just a thought. God Bless you
heres another way of looking at it. when God created us he didnt simply called us into existence like he did with creation,BUT took his time shaping & molding us,making us UNIQUE in every sense of the word....Amen?
2 Corinthians 6:19 states..."your body is the temple of the holy ghost..." (KJV) we are not to be joined in fornication or to a prostitute was what Paul was talking about...I believe in having a purpose in every thing I do where God will receive glory. My life should be an act of worship..and in cultures and subcultures there are people who get alot of tattoos..well that culture is up for grabs. if the devil is going to show up, someone in the Body of Christ needs to represent, which there are now. I have one big tattoo, and it is about my baptism..my next tattoo will be about the Holy Spirit. so I am using these to testify about Jesus in my life.
THanks you, for relplying to my question. GOD bless. :)
Hi my name is Richard, it is a pleasure to meet you Alexandra and to answer your question. We have freedoms in Christ, it depends on what your going to get. It is also like this if it feels wrong than it is wrong. The best thing to do is to pray. Is it in the Lords will for you to get the tattoo or is it something you just want to do. Like I said we have freedoms in Christ but at least pray about it before you get the tattoo and make sure it is something your willing to live with. May the Lord richley bless my sister, Richard. <>/body>
Well, if you can see my picture, I probably don't need to say where I stand on the issue. But I will explain my position further. And I've even gone further than just a tattoo.
OK, your body is a temple. Has your church ever been painted? Has there ever been anything done to the outside of your church to make it look more appealing to people passing by? Does it have a sign in front to let people know something about the church? Just some thoughs to consider...
Otherwise, I'm in total agreement with both Richards. It's a matter of whether or not you feel it's right for you and whether or not it will bring glory to God. Will it open doors of opportunity for you to share your faith in Christ? Or is it just a personal indulgence?

BTW, the passage in Leviticus that says not to have tattoos is preceeded by a passage that says men aren't supposed to trim their sideburns or their beards. So unless the person quoting that passage to you has unkempt sideburns and a beard, they're in violation of the Law, too...
In relation to tattoos and body piercings, a good test is to determine whether we can honestly, in good conscience, ask God to bless and use that particular activity for His own good purposes. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). The New Testament does not command against tattoos or body piercings, but it also does not give us any reason to believe God would have us get tattoos or body piercings.

An important scriptural principle on issues the Bible does not specifically address is if there is room for doubt whether it pleases God, then it is best not to engage in that activity. Romans 14:23 reminds us that anything that does not come from faith is sin. We need to remember that our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. Although 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 does not directly apply to tattoos or body piercings, it does give us a principle: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. If our bodies belong to God, we should make sure we have His clear “permission” before we “mark them up” with tattoos or body piercings.
Amen, Bro!
michael make a good point about Leviticus . those passages are about that time for that group of people. I see it as a chapter in history whitch is very important. moses wants his people to be set apart form outher tribes. If you quote Leviticus to codem something thats ok with me but if you do the you can't where a t-shirt ( Leviticus codems whereing of cloth from 2 dreffrent cloths) and do not shave your side burns. there are outhers too. but my point is there are thinghs in Leciticus that most people today do not live by. thats my problem with leviticus
