Hmmm......I think humility and boldness are a sign of the condition of our hearts, trusting completely in the Lord and not ourselves. Both are glorifying to God and not ourselves. Even if we quote the Bible, God knows why we are quoting it. I am one who has been guilty of running to the bible to find a scripture to prove how right I am : ).
I don't believe that boldness completely disregards the other person, I do believe 1 Corinthians 13, that love is patient and kind. I do think we have to put aside our own fears.
"It is difficult to find people who are both characteristically bold and humble at the same time. Bold people are usually not humble and humble people are usually not bold. Only the gospel can produce people who are both bold and humble at the same time...." Click here to read the rest of this blog on Christian Boldness - eucatastrophe.com
HUMILITY
With humility we are to receive the word (James 1:21) and serve the Lord (Acts 20:19). We are to clothe ourselves with humility toward each other (Ephesians 4:2; Philippians 2:3; 1 Peter 5:5) and have humility in our hearts (Colossians 3:12).
BOLDNESS
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to preach the gospel with boldness (Acts 4:31). Our faith and hope in Christ makes us bold (2 Corinthians 3:12) and we are called up to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19; Acts 4:29; Acts 28:31).
