Here's a question for you all: Are you married to Jesus or are you just dating him?

A woman preacher I listened to asked this very question.  She said that if you only "date" Jesus, (have a relationship w/him when it's convenient,or when you need something from Him), or are you "married" to Jesus ( your life and everything you do in your life isn't just you any longer, but both you and Jesus)?  She made an excellent point, and I've decided in my life I want to be married!  Even if Jesus never gives me another gift, blessing,or help in any way for myself, I still want to be with him.  With out Him my life is meaningless!  Sometimes I think people take Jesus for granted always thinking that He will be there when they need him.   Yes He will because He said he would, but why keep Jesus, like a book on a shelf, and use him when we feel like it?  Isn't Jesus supposed to be shared?   I want to take Jesus everywhere I go.  He's part of the family once you get married to Him, so why not act like it!.  Another man preacher, I know, said that a person should ask Jesus what He would do, in any situation.  Why not!  Jesus knows all, so why not ask your questions to someone who has ALL the answers...JESUS...Your Husband!?  I may sound crazy, and this is ok, but I've done alot of thinking about what these two preachers said.  I tried it.  IT Works!  I go to school for Medical Assisting and honestly it's hard, but with Jesus' help I'm passing.  I was in school last Friday getting ready for a test when I found out I studied for the wrong chapter; well to make a long story short, I asked Jesus to help me and He did.  I got a "B".  For someone who didn't study AT ALL  getting a "B"  I believe Jesus came through!  He gets All the credit here!  Thank You Jesus!  Well, you all have a great week,  God Bless!  Think about it...Is Jesus just a date,... or a husband to you?

Hi Stacie - this is right up my alley - just reading through an excellent book called Becoming the Beloved by Mark Davidson. Sub title "The End -Time Bride of Christ." In this book Mark shares wonderful revelations about the Song of Soloman which makes a riveting and very inspiring heart warming read.
Makes you really stop and think about ones life and how we live it! There isn't a day that has gone by that I don't think about this question. Have a great evening, and God Bless!
i have tryed 2 tell myself, if u smoke you will commit spiritual adultry, because we r his bridegrooms. men too. thats a hard concept. the time is comming soon 4 the bridegroom 2 come 4 His wife + the word says our wedding robes must b white + wrinkle free.or we'll b left standing @ the altar. i think that means we'll still go 2 heaven when we die, but to make the cut 4 the rapture,we must b faithfully married 2 Jesus. im not there yet + i know time is running out. i better go pray 4 help now. thanks 4 the reminder
Susan Smith, You're most welcome. One of the pastors also said, during a message,...God doesn't expect you to be perfect just faithful. Jesus came and died so we could get forgiveness from ALL our sins, not just the easy ones. Habits are hard to break, and when we fail do not condem yourself; instead thank God for the strength,He gave you, to make it this far. Look at it as a speed bump in the road that your going down. When you fall, pick yourself up and keep going without looking back. It's looking back that keeps you bound! God says in his word that He takes your sins/bad habits and puts them out of His sight because of Jesus. I'm paraphrasing, but you get my meaning. Anyway, just continue on w/Jesus and don't worry about your habit. Give it to Jesus and let Him get rid of it. God Bless!

Dear Lord God I pray that your precious daughter Susan will never again want to touch her lips with that which brings death. Lord I pray that she will be filled with nausea at the sight of this instrument of bondage. May she know that her mouth has been set free to speak and testify of your saving power and speak with knowledge of the freedom that is in Christ.
In the Name of Jesus - amen.
Testify oh temple of the Holy Spirit, laugh at the enemy and resist him with the Word and he will flee from you. Laugh sister as you tell him that you have been set free to serve and to trample him underfoot. Testify testify and don't hear the lie, - its a step at a time but every step is part of the victory and soon you will be flying.

Susan Hello, The woman preacher I'm talking about had a problem like you have. She said that she used to hold bible study in her home and smoke during the meeting. She said that she felt terrible but couldn't quit. Finally she said that she just gave it to God and said..."I can't do this on my own... I need your help". The way she talked it took alittle time, but she eventually quit. My advise is just continue living your life and thank Jesus for your deliverance...no matter how long it takes. A diffrent pastor I watch says that a person has to start with prayer for a situation, then have the faith that God will do what they need done, with praise following. He says to continue thanking and praising Jesus even when you have'nt seen the results. I know this is easier said then done, but God is no respecter of persons and He will help you. A question for you...Have you asked your husband to quit smoking with you? Hang in there, before you know it you will have quit and not even noticed it! God Bless!
