The Sands of Forgiveness
A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.
The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.
After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?”
The other friend replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”
LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

Permalink Reply by Dean & GladysBeaty on February 28, 2012 at 6:22pm I totally agree but the idea is a slap or (the bad things) are not to be remembered while the good things someone does for us we should hold on to them and keep them in our memories. This is what the happy person does.

Permalink Reply by Greg Wiscoff on February 29, 2012 at 6:31pm I actually had something like this happen to me. Not that I had the other be my best friend. But the guy didnt like me. But now that I think about it in the end I guess without telling him in my heart I have forgiven the guy for hitting me. I know why he did it. All I said was "God Bless." But to make a long story short I went into my room and prayed for the guy by myself and I havent seen him since. So I guess I have forgiven him in my heart.

Permalink Reply by Greg Wiscoff on March 1, 2012 at 2:36pm Tammy would you still have the courage to hit the guy if you knew he was a gangemember wannabe? Thats what the police said.
Permalink Reply by Tammy_LIBAW on March 1, 2012 at 3:08pm You didn't know this at first though. The police told you later. Seeing as he was just a wannabe, that's makes him a loser gangbanger. The gang won't even take him. BAHAHAHA. You did the right thing Greg.
