My suggestion is always to make something personal. Get together with the kids and find some items around the house, or even stop at a craft store, and make something that expresses some aspect of his personality that you all find so endearing. Especially if it's something he can take to work with him and put on his desk/work station.
That's the best I can offer since I don't know what your husband likes.

A batch of homemade brownies or cookies or banana bread is always nice, I think:) ...mabey write a poem and frame it?

Or a t-shirt with all your kids names signed on the back with a sweet little note from the heart:)
