I've heard these statement many times, "why do we as a church have to debate about these things" or, "these are just doctrine, cant we just put those aside" or, "that's just a prefrence of belief", when it comes to things that are not a matter of preference. I would like to know (if possible in detail). What teachings of the Bible you consider to be preferences. Example:

some believe calvanism is a preference

some believe that the 1000 year reign of Christ is prefrence

What do you believe?

So let me ask another question, is the second coming of Christ (example: Pretribulation Rapture, Midtribulation Rapture, Premillennialism, Amillennialism, Postmillennialism, Bodily, already occured..etc.) a matter of division for the New Testament Church.
It's not so much a matter of division, but of lack of knowledge in this particular area. Every one has their certain scripture to back themselves up with, but does that scripture actually support their theories or are they just accepting what others are teaching them. If even Jesus does not know when, then how will we know! The important thing is to just be prepared for when He does return and be about our Fathers business until Jesus returns. At least most of us can agree Jesus will come back for His bride.
15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18. Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19. Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

22. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

24. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

25. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

This verse here which gives reference to the understanding of prophecy and specifically end time events and the resurrection of Christ tells me that prophecy and end time events are a matter of Church Doctrine and Christian faith solidarity, and that the wrong view concerning Christ's resurrection is considered heresy. This is just 1 verse of many that show that what some of us may consider nothing for a church to flee from are things inwhich the church is to protect itself from.
I believe the Word of God, as it is written, and pay little attention to creeds or doctrines
Can you quantify that statement? Explain what is meant by that? Thank you. God Bless
