Why do some Christian believe we can lose are Salvation and we have to get Saved again?
"After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy spirit of promise, which is the earnest [the pledge] of our inheritance until the redemption [Greek--apolutrosis, a loosing away or deliverance.--See also Luke 21:28; Rom. 8:23.] of the purchased possession." "Grieve not the holy spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption [deliverance]."--Eph. 1:13,14; 4:30.

I just want to hear what you all have to say about this matter. I believe not everyone who cry holy, holy, holy are not all saved.

We are Saved by faith not by works.

Adam and those reading and responding,
Thank you for your response. I know that there are very sincere believers that debate this and even write devotional and scholarly articles on the subject. I appreciate your humble insight and tone. We as believers must begin to wrestle with the reasons why this and other questions never seem to be resolved once and for all, by Holy Spirit filled followers of Christ. That should make us say - huh, I wonder if the enemy might be at work here. God's not the author of confusion, but confusion seems to exist here. We eventually have to nail it down and get back to work in the fields or leave it alone as a doctrine that is non essential to the moment of the new birth or salvation and get back to work in the fields. Either way, I think it best that I get back to work in the fields, because I am easily distracted! LOL
Love to all and Blessings,

You're right brother. I just want people to be serious about salvation and not think that this just a mouth confession with no fruit projection. It's great to be able to discuss subjects in the word so that people might get a better understanding. We must know how to guide the newly saved people. It's about education and revelation so that sinners can truly be saved. I love LIBAW! It's a true blessing to the internet world and the body of Christ.
God's Vision,
I know what you mean about wanting people to be serious about salvation and ...mouth confessions with no fruit. I have been a believer for a fairly long time now and what I have come to understand about the walk is that we can not affect change in others, that is the Lord's doing. We all start out newborns and God uses others to help us grow and that growth happens in different ways and at different speeds. I have tried to help others along, sometimes they are ready and sometimes they are not. God knows and He ultimately is controlling it. It is frustrating sometimes when others don't seem to be getting it, but at that moment, I have to remind myself that it is God that began the work of salvation in the person and God never starts something that He will not finish.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Blessings brother,
Greg

If salvation is a gift then it has to be accepted. Gifts can be given back. Also, in order for a gift to mean something it has opened and put to use. So salvation can be lost if you really didn't accept Christ in your heart. God judges the heart and he knows who is serious and who's not. We can't lead people to believe that if they say the sinners prayer they can continue in sin. The word says narrow is the way and few will find it. There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death Proverbs14:12. God don't force you to be saved it's something that you must pursue and walk out. Romans9:27 says, Isaiah cries out concerning Isreal: " Though the number of the Isrealites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. We are the spritual Isrealites so there are some will be rejected. Sure his grace will allow us to come back if we backslide, but that's if we choose to come back.
Well, said...

This is definately a gift that has to be put to use. If we get saved and sit down on it, we won't grow, we won't mature, and we won't be able to lead anyone else to Christ. So in essence we will have voided our gift. This is a gift that has many strings attached. That's why Jesus told them to "count up the cost". Know what you're getting into. This will be a walk of self denial, persecution, and even death (for the gospel's sake) for some. So you have to walk into this knowing all that comes with it to truly be able to withstand all that will come your way. Christ will give you the strength you need to endure it all, but the effort on your part must be there as well.

Be encouraged!
Adam, you have explained the work of Grace in ways that make it seem new again.

thanks bro
Jason
John6:37 All the father gives me will come to me, & whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
john6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my fathers will is that evreyone who looks to the son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last days.
god does not leave us.However, we can choose to leave him. He has us all in his hand, but we can choose to jump out. No works does not save us.Once we give our lives to him there is a measure of responsiblity that comes along with it. It is a privilage to be a chiristan and we do not get to live anyway we want and expect to be hunky dory with God. He is a loving forgiveing God.He is also a jealous God. He dosen't want us to put anything in front of his will for our lives. We have to shed those weights that so beset us.
There will be many that will stand before him that says "Lord I cast out devils in your name and He will reply Sorry I never knew you!"
In a word, "no" you can't loose your salvation. Once you're save, really, truly saved you can't loose your salvation. There's the question. Are you really saved? Did you just go down front because everyone else was and you didn't want to be left out? Did you just jump on the band wagon? Salvation isn't just fire insurance. When we get saved it's really a new birth (Jn.3:3) and we become brand new souls that the world has never seen before. If we continue to live the same old way chances are we were never saved to begin with. It is possible to just say a bunch of words and not mean them.
Jesus christ says alot in the gospels if a man has sin in his heart he shall not make it into hevan.

If you get saved and sin your backslidden, you need to repent for that sin to make it into heaven.
can i ask a question? concerning salvation. where in the scripture does it say to ask Jesus into your "heart" to become born again?
I think that there are some issues here that could use some clarification.

So these pseudo cults come up with man made traditions telling people if they follow this religion they'll be guaranteed Eternal Security! Such as, getting baptized, living a sinless life, going to Purgatory, speaking in tongues to prove your saved, being slain in the spirit, and all whole bunch of other gimmicks!

I would say that it is a little harsh to call these acts of pseudo cults. You are not saved by baptism it is a means by which you can make your proclamation of faith. Even Jesus was baptized and the father said "This is my son in whom I am well pleased." As far as The tongue and other "gimmicks" the bible is pretty clear about the gifts of the spirit, but whether or not you feel they are for this age or not is a discussion that is probably lengthy enough to be its own thread. They are not however means of salvation but rather signs of faith.
