Why do some Christian believe we can lose are Salvation and we have to get Saved again?
"After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy spirit of promise, which is the earnest [the pledge] of our inheritance until the redemption [Greek--apolutrosis, a loosing away or deliverance.--See also Luke 21:28; Rom. 8:23.] of the purchased possession." "Grieve not the holy spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption [deliverance]."--Eph. 1:13,14; 4:30.

I just want to hear what you all have to say about this matter. I believe not everyone who cry holy, holy, holy are not all saved.

We are Saved by faith not by works.

Juan, check out Isaiah57:17-18
Temptation happens to everyone and human being are made of the flesh and therefore are imperfect and do make mistakes.

I have heard and do agree that if a person no longer is feels convicted, then that is when they have lost it.

This concept resonates with me because the bible gives numerous accounts of forgiveness and redemption.
One more thing is that I think it is important to look at other people with love and hope, and acknowledge the fact that only they truely know if they are saved or not. The church is a hospital for sinners.
thats right, a tree is known by its fruit... Jesus also sais in John ch. 15 "I am the Vine, you are the branches...."
Yes no one knows who is really saved are not, but God. It's very important that people know that Salvation is God's Grace and mercy for us. He gives it freely for those who chose to believe and confess he is Lord. Salvation can never be taken away because you mess up. If so Jesus would have to die all over again. He tell us it is finished. Once he died that was it. He took are sin away, GOD know the end of are story here in earth. He knows when we mess up. But we don't have to stay that way. The Holy Spirit is are helper. But like I said those who are really Saved never stay down to long. Because we have the helper in us. I also believe in my walk with God, everything is Good when we just get saved. I was such on fire for him. But then I STILL HAVE MY SINFUL NATURE. I had a lot to learn about God and his grace. I've been saved for about 10 years now. I've Had my in and outs. But I always knew I still have the Holy Spirit in me. Even when I was in the wilderness for some time. But it's his Grace that leads me back to repentance.
Found this online real nice
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." -Hebrews13:5

"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise," -Ephesians1:13

Many people will say if they do not live a good Christian life, God will take away their Eternal Security (Salvation). Whereas, the person that has "fallen" away from the Lord will go to hell for not keeping and maintaining a good Christian life. On the contrary, John 3:16 reads that once a believer is saved, they are always saved. The plain truth is, ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED! Some people will comment that they were once a Christian, but quit being one. Then they weren't Christians to begin with!

"...I say then, Hath God cast away his people?..." -Romans 11:1

The moment you call upon Jesus Christ to take you to heaven when you die, you are SAVED. Did you have to do anything to obtain such a wonderful blessing from The Lord? (Besides call upon Him.) No! So, is their any difference to say that you can lose your Eternal Security if you do something wrong? No! You can commit some horrible sins as a Christian, and still hold on to your Salvation! That doesn't mean, though, a Christian can get away with sinning.

"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" -John 11:26

Would Satan do such a thing as this nonsense? Satan knows he's going to burn in Hell for ever. So what does he concur? He tries his hardest to deceive BILLIONS of people in going to Hell with him! He'll do ANYTHING to make a lost soul stay lost from Jesus Christ! When you were once lost and going to hell, Satan was your father! But when you received God's wonderful gift for Salvation, you became a child of God! Did Satan give up? No! He still tried to lure your new soul into temptation away from your Heavenly Father! Satan doesn't GIVE UP! So why would God GIVE UP on His OWN CHILDREN?! He won't! God made a promise to NEVER leave his children whether they be good or bad NO MATTER WHAT!

"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." -John10:28

So many people refuse to accept the fact, in order to get saved, all they have to do is put their faith in Jesus Christ. Why? People generally have a hard time to believe in something they can't use their five senses on. So these pseudo cults come up with man made traditions telling people if they follow this religion they'll be guaranteed Eternal Security! Such as, getting baptized, living a sinless life, going to Purgatory, speaking in tongues to prove your saved, being slain in the spirit, and all whole bunch of other gimmicks! This is works! Not Faith! This way is Hell's way! Faith lead to the path of God's way! You DON'T have to do works to KEEP your salvation! It's by FAITH your saved into God's kingdom!

"Any denial of eternal security is, in its essence, a belief that we must maintain our own salvation by our own good works. This is completely antithetical to salvation by grace. We are saved because of Christ's merits, not our own (Romans 4:3-8). To claim that we must obey God's Word or live a godly life to maintain our salvation is equal to saying that Jesus' death was not sufficient to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus' death was absolutely sufficient to pay for all of our sins - past, present, and future, pre-salvation and post-salvation (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)."

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" -Titus 3:5

When your born into the world, that was your physical birth. When you obtained Salvation through Jesus Christ, (Got saved) that was your SPIRITUAL birth. I ask you this simple question, "How can you unborn yourself?" You can't! It's IMPOSSIBLE to do such a thing! To think God will unborn your spirit and send you to hell after you've accepted Christ as your own personal Savior, is complete LIES and HERESY! So why do so many Christian's think they can lose their Salvation? They are doctrinally mislead to believing Satan's LIES! Once you've accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior to take you to Heaven when you die, you are 110 percent, with out a doubt--SAVED! It was your spiritual birth and no man can take that birth (Salvation) away from you!

"And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" -John 11:26

If anyone tells you that you can lose your salvation, they are teaching HERESY! The Bible NEVER mentions that if a person gets saved, they can lose their salvation! No one wants to admit the plain truth that once your saved, your always saved! If your a Christian that believes you must work for the assurance of your Salvation, YOU HAVE BEEN DECEIVED! May God speak in your hearts with this message on Salvation, Amen.

"For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in." -Romans 11:25

"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." -John 10:9
who is this? This is NOT the Evang. Akanimoh Raleigh I know of and have spoken to... this is even a completely different page? Yes, I partailly understand what you are saying in your replies to this dicussion, but WHAT are you doing with these accusations and bickering? This is not the usual replies in love that this name puts out... I am very suspicious. I could be wrong, but I feel that this is someone else under a false alias that is trying to disreupt something. Forgive if I am wrong brother, but I feel that something is wrong...
This has turned into an argument and it needs to STOP!
2 Tim 2:14b
"Warn them before God AGAINST quarreling about words; it is of NO value, and only ruins those who listen."
I know it has been a while since you wrote this but it did hit home. yYou are absolutely right. What better way to put our salvastion in question than to make us believe we are not good enough.
these two statement are basically just doctrine..they are held above what the Word is saying...we know that what Christ did on the cross was good enough to cover our sins. Once we Follow Him, and seek Him with all our heart or soul(mind, will, emotions) we can expect to hear Him speak to us. Once we make Him leader in our lives, and spend time meditating on His Word, we can ask anything, or comment, and wait...He will answer...thats why He sais "My sheep know Me, they hear My voice."

I used to do the same thing, and I have found out many people worry about if I sin, then He comes back its too late to repent....the TRUTH is He is the Author and Finisher of our faith...He will get us where we need to be. We know there is freedom in the Lord. One thing I began doing a while back was reciting Psalm 51:10 as a prayer every morning for a while till I didnt feel I needed to anymore...His word IS true....it worked beautifully. btw im not perfect so I still say it from time to time :)
Wow! This is a good one. I love that this is posted some where for discussion, I thank God for all the responses thus far. I truly believe that God sent His only begotten Son to die for whomever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life, and the work Has been done. He have already said that we all fall short of His glory, so already He knows that we are sinners, already saved by God's grace. I feel like all of us have Hope, Hope, and more Hope to enter into that kingdom of heaven one day and I also feel like that's all we got. Now some may have that Faith and know that they are but I tell you that's probably very few, and bottom line they are also riding on a lot of Hope. Much Love

Well, I can say, from personal experience that it is definately possible to be saved, and just choose not to obey. Once we receive Christ, He does not take over our will. We have the ability to now choose to obey Him, and walk upright, but we also have the ability to choose not to obey Him.

I got saved in 1995, and I lived like a heathen for a long time, because I had not truly decided to give my life over to Him. It's only through His grace and mercy that He still saw fit to give me a heart of repentance. Because the reality of the situation is that if I had died in that state, I would have been on my way to hell...being saved.

So, there's not a need to be "saved again" but there may be a need to come into agreement with God's purpose for your life, even after salvation.

It's much easier to just get in line with His will and stay there, because tomorrow is not promised to any of us, even us saved ones... and if we die in sin, then we all know where we'll be spending eternity. Although hell is a very real aspect of the situation, I've come to realize that a fear of hell is not going to keep anyone on this walk. It's not something we have a true reality of. No one that we know has ever been, and just like we can't comprehend the greatness that heaven will be, we cant even begin to imagine how bad hell will be. So i just let God's love be the motivation for my walk. He has been so merciful to me and loved me in spite of myself, and for that I will be forever grateful to Him. Spending the rest of my life showing my gratitude by being a living example of the very life that Christ displayed when He was here.

Be encouraged.
Brothers and Sisters,
I have very definite beliefs regarding whether a person can lose their salvation once they have been born again, but I really would like to open up another thread of thought.

My question is why do we wrestle with whether salvation can be lost or is it eternal? I hope that everyone weighs in on this.

We had a LIVE Broadcast on this subject and we might do it again and pose the why question.

Blessings,
Greg
