Malaysian astrophysicist Mazlan Othman may add a new job to her resume. She is currently director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), which deals space-related issues, ranging from international cooperation in peaceful uses of outer space to managing the growing problem of space debris.

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- If aliens exist, they may be a different life form that does not need Christ's redemption, the Vatican's chief astronomer said.
Jesuit Father Jose Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory, said Christians should consider alien life as an "extraterrestrial brother" and a part of God's creation.
Father Funes, an Argentine named to his position by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006, made the remarks in an interview published May 13 by the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano.
Father Funes said it was difficult to exclude the possibility that other intelligent life exists in the universe, and he noted that one field of astronomy is now actively seeking "biomarkers" in spectrum analysis of other stars and planets..

That's interesting Crystal, how the Rapture theory comes into the fantasy mix. As I have read so much on this lately, I believe it is a huge deception that may unfortunately be one more faith shaker that causes many to fall away.
What is good is to hear a minister not shy away from these news stories even when they are not able to reconcile it yet. I would appreciate a preacher bringing up the subject and inviting a bible study discussion on the matter. You know what I mean, to kinda' search the scriptures (reason together) and prove these things if they be so or not. True, we may not find a direct Word on the UFO subject but at least we would have a knowledge of where the bible stands on how to deal with the questions.
This applies to every current deception and tactic of the enemy. We average Christians are really ministers of the gospel too. We may not stand at the pulpit on Sunday but we have the potential to witness to many more non-Christians in the course of a week than the pastor. Why shouldn't we have an answer or be able to inject our faith into the conversation, be prepared to contend for our faith.

Right. Its just that I have had discussions (well 2 in particular) with non-Christians who tell me they have never heard any Christian talk about these things. They wanted to know what church I go to. Unfortunately I had no reply for that because I don't know any minister that deals with educating/warning saints on subjects of upcoming deception. What is most important is leading them to repentance. So on one hand I understand the avoidance of issues like one global religion, U.F.O deception, chemical poisoning of the water, vaccination hazards, voting for evil men, increasing homosexual acceptance and so on. But on the other hand these are upon us and it is better to keep our eyes open being able to discern what is good and what are evil inventions.
We should want to be able to declare: all this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. From Psalms 44.
Psa 44:22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
I have heard it said that this is fear mongering but the Christian has nothing to fear but God, though these things are upon us. We don't have to sit with our head in our hands once we are aware because when the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. From Isaiah 59
The key is to be like Jesus and never cease to warn each other of the darts of the wicked while we are still able. So we can watch and pray for the time will come when we won't have this medium of communication. And we know many will succumb to the worship of the beast.

I totally still disagree that this is a "deception" issue about the rapture. I know many many awesome men of God who believe in the rapture of the church & I actually find it quite offensive for everyone to keep saying it's for deception sake that this is being taught.

Well is this a carry over from the other discussion, the Rapture issue that is. I read over all these posts and I didn't see it here being called a deception, just the whole Aliens/U.F.O. thing.
I think someone said that Alien abduction would be used to explain the Rapture and that would be a deception.
I imagine whether we believe in a Pre-Trib, Mid or even Post we will all find out soon enough. The object would be to be found busy doing our Fathers business either way. The only thing that is troubling is Christians that feel they are in the throws of biblical persecution now and it's only going to get better and better from here on out. Now that is a delusion. We've got more to come even if we follow the Pre-Trib theory.

Other government officials (UN) and the president and UK government as well, according to what I've read are preparing to release "info" that they have concerning extraterrestrial contact. Now what this all means, I guess we'll see. But I can't really recall a time when presidents/government confirmed U.F.O. theory as even a possibility. True the white house has accommodated a few mystical star-gazing heads of state but, a public statement on the fact. WEIRD. A bit odd and makes me wonder what deception is just over the horizon (pun intended).
