That is something that I have always wondered about for years and years. It started in High school when I was misjudged as being something I am not and again I wonder. What makes one sin greater than another. Is pre-marital sex a great sin than gossip? Is it a greater sin to be homosexual than it is to lie? I am not trying to patronize anything like that I am just honestly curious. What do you think? What does the Bible say about this? What is your own personal feelings and beliefs on this. Please speak freely because I am not a person to pass judgement on anyone else. As I have said before, the only person worthy to judge anyone is our Lord. I thank everyone for their opinions and insights.

I am going to look up scripture for you, Amanda, that is the only way for your question to be answered....But I will say this....a sin is a sin is a sin....God bless you
I think it is impossible to think like God (at least in this Flesh), but anything that separates us from His Fellowship is Sin. So to God I suppose that anything that we allow in our life or mind that keeps us out of touch with Him could be Sin. It could be things that are not really thought of as sin, such as, in my case, it is a four letter word called WORK. I know that I let it consume me at times and I also have a problem with doing things on my own and in my own strength. But if I had to guess what would be the greatest Sin I think it is unbelief, for even nature cries out that there is a God. And anyone who knows the Gospel but refuses to believe on The One who Suffered and Bled and Died for us is already condemned. The first Sin was that Adam refused to believe God, but chose to believe a lie. And so it is even today with the World. Ever learning, but never coming to the knowledge of The Truth. I hope this helps you Amanda. May God bless you in your Journey......w/Christ Love, Randy
Thank you all for your feedback and sharing verses with me. It has helped me a lot. I always felt that all sins are equal but I never really knew because there are so many different ideals out there that it's hard to know what to believe. But I suppose the more I read the bible the more I will understand what is what. Again thank you all for you insight on this issue.
I have always believed God says if you continue to live a lifestlye of sinning. he's says to refrain from it, like a lifestle of prostution, homosexuality, adultress, drunkard, etc. If you get out of that way of living and turn from your sin and change your ways then God will forgive you and cleanse you of all the unrighteous.
sin isnt defined by one deed or another, but rather sin is a condition. we are in a condition of sin otherwise we would behave perfectly, but those honest with themselves know this is the case. This condition of sin left us hopeless to be condemned. that is why christ said he didnt come to condemn, because we were condemned already. what christ came here to do is to provide salvation from this condition.
this salvation will become clear come judgement day when all are judged according to what they have done good and bad. here is the catch only those whose name is found in the book of life will escape condemnation. see here, they didnt escape based on thier deeds, but rather they were saved by faith through grace and not by deeds.
i often think about the people i know whose deeds are better than mine,or for that matter just simply better people than i am( more charitable or more sincere) but do not know christ(yet anyway) they will not escape condemnation if they continue to deny the provision.
however, untill that day each action has different consequences here in this world. for example, murder will get you thrown in prison or win you capital punishment, while adultery will cause a whole lot of miserable drama in your life . not to mention, if a christian ,these deeds will affect thier relationship with the lord.
I think, YES THEY ARE!! A Sin means to miss the mark, it does'nt matter if you missed it by an [ inch or a mile!]..you missed it, but, that's where MERCY COME'S IN!
